Warung Totemo — Restaurant in Kuta

During my 2-month stay in Bali, Warung Totemo became more than just a place to eat—it became a part of my daily life and my heart. I was staying at Grandmas Hotel in Kuta, Legian, and at first, I tried the nearby restaurants. Most were overpriced and lacked soul. Then I stumbled upon Warung Totemo on Google Maps. I took a motorbike the first time, but after that, I walked there every day. It felt close—not just in distance, but in spirit.

In all my travels, I’ve never found a place like this. Quiet. Comforting. Full of warmth. The kind of place where the staff treats you like family from the very first meal. The kindness I felt there is something I’ll never forget—it’s the kind of love that Bali is known for.

The food? Always fresh, always delicious. I never got sick, not even once in two whole months. You’ll read reviews where people say they got sick in Bali, but I truly believe it’s more about the choices they make, not the places they blame. Warung Totemo was my safe haven.

And the people—Rina, Ericka, Merry, Ita, and the sweetest of all, Nanda. They weren’t just staff. They were friends. They were family.

If I ever find myself back in Bali, I won’t even have to think twice—Warung Totemo will always be my place. Forever.

The first time I came here was about 13 years ago when Kuta was still popular. The food has always been fine, and I especially liked the Ayam Betutu here. A week ago, I decided to visit again to reminisce about the past. The food is still quite good; I had nasi goreng with pork satay and peanut sauce. However, I remember it being better before, and the hygiene has really gone downhill. Now, the next part: I came with my brother, who is vegetarian. There is a whole page on the menu dedicated to vegetarian dishes. He ordered the "beefless rendang" and was served actual meat! They claimed it was mushrooms, but it looked and tasted exactly like meat. I'm not into meat substitutes, but if those were mushrooms, they’ve found a goldmine... I asked if I could see the raw product, but they didn’t comply....

We travel in bali now for second time and since over a month now! This is one of the best places! Big menu for everyone there is something! Generous portions for cheap! Friendly service and delicious food, juices. So you can't go wrong with this place! They use lots of fruits and ice for the juices! Had a banana lemon orange mix for 20k! One if the best juices i had since travelling! Green garden salad is amazing! Finally a good portion for just 28k! And with lettuce, cucumber, capsicum and avocado really generous portion! The large vegetarian pizza just 48k like! Crunchy and delicious! Best pizza for the best price in a european size! You can sit and watch the street (I like watching the action on the street) and you have Wi-Fi! We will come back and I repeat with this place you can't be...
