The Grand La Walon hotel is located down the laneway, but it's very handy to many local bars, restaurants and there is also a convenience store straight across the road. The rooms are a reasonable size with a small desk, a bar fridge, a hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar and they supplied Dental kits and cotton buds.  They do not supply bathrobes or slippers. There is a terribly old, ridiculously small TV about the size of a laptop screen which should have been replaced with something reasonable years ago. The beds are a little hard, but they're ok. The bathrooms are very small and compact, and the fittings should have been replaced as they're badly tarnished and worn. The water pressure from the rainfall shower head is reasonable, but from the handheld rose is poor. They provided small bars of soap and conditioner but no shampoo. The Wi-Fi keeps dropping out and could be a lot better There is a swimming pool which all the rooms overlook and there is a pool bar. The hotel is reasonable for the price but could really do with some updating things like putting in a reasonable size modern proper TV. For the budget conscious it's a reasonable Hotel but in peak times when the prices are inflated it's definitely not worth it.

I stayed here for 7 nights in early August. I was nervous because it was my first solo trip and I'd never stayed in this hotel before. I shouldn't have worried. The hotel, whilst being a 3*, was lovely. I had room 331 facing Benesari lane & whilst it could be noisy in the evenings, it was not all night like some people have commented. Air conditioning was excellent. The room was clean, everything was in working order. I didn't have breakfast included in my room rate because I knew there were loads of good eateries within really close proximity. I did end up eating at the hotel a few times ($7 AUD for breakfast), and it was really good. There is a great laundry just across the lane near the circleK and also a great money changer next door. The only negative I have is the towels were grey and not fluffy. I wish I had stayed here my entire trip. People complain about this hotel are forgetting that it's not 5* and it's one of the cheaper hotels around.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights based on previous reviews. The room was very clean, well appointed with comfortable balcony furniture, mini bar, kettle, safe, bottled water and toiletries. Unfortunately our room, 310, had an older out dated AC unit that barely kept up to the heat and ran constantly. We asked for a portable fan but we're not given one. A maintenance staff came by and recharged the AC unit and it improved somewhat. Hot water in the shower was sporadic. The hotel in general and the pool are very well maintained and lots of lounge chairs, towels provided and bar/food service. The restaurant was excellent with the included breakfast surpassing out expectations. Mika and the kitchen staff are awesome hardworking people All the staff are very friendly and engaging. We booked for 2 more nights at the end of our month long trip. Luggage storage and airport transfers are easy to arrange and appreciated. Thank you

We had an amazing time at Grand La Walon! ||From our initial contact (I emailed to make the booking and Ayu assisted me) to the time we left we were highly impressed.||The hotel is very clean, comfortable and well located. There are countless restaurants and bars within a 5 to 10 minute walk. There are two convenience stores opposite the hotel, as well as a laundry business and two Beauty Salons within 100 steps! (Leanne Spa across the street was great!)||Breakfast buffet is fresh, tasty and offers lots of choices including an egg station.||The staff here are absolutely fantastic and they really make this a wonderful place to stay. |Special shout out to Ari, Gus, Koko and the whole team. An absolutely amazing team.||Nothing was a problem for the staff. For example one afternoon our bathroom exhaust fan started to malfunction. I called reception… 10 minutes later a staff member arrived with a replacement and tool kit, and another 15 minutes later it was totally replaced.||The pool is great, there is a daily two for one cocktail special, and food available to order, all of which was delicious.||We ate dinner in the restaurant a couple of times and the meals were GREAT. Good serving sizes and reasonably priced.||Another factor that makes GLW stand out from the rest is that the hotel manager Nyoman is so present and engaged with the staff and guests. He makes a point of interacting with all guests in a very sincere and genuine manner. He and his staff were incredibly empathetic and helpful when one of our travel companions fell and injured herself (not at the hotel).||The only (very minor) suggestions for improvement would be:||1) Limit smoking around the pool especially as this is a hotel used by families with small children ||And||2) Address the temporary shortage of room keys. I shared a room with my husband so only having one room key available for two people who often did different activities during the day was a bit inconvenient. Keys could be left at the front desk but it meant sometimes we would need to wait for other people to be served before we could retrieve our key and sometimes you might be in a rush to get back to your room etc. I want to reiterate that these are minor issues.||I would highly recommend this hotel. We were already discussing our next stay before our previous stay was over! ||Looking forward to next year!!||Thank you Grand La Walon for a...

Highly recommend this place, staff are so incredibly friendly, go above and beyond with any request. (Shoutout to SANDY for helping me find a lost phone). Pool is great, restaurant with free breakfast is awesome, something for everyone. The room service is super affordable and takes minutes to be delivered to door. Room is a bit cold as you need to keep the air conditioner on at all times or else the room condensates (due to the humidity and heat outside). Room has own balcony with drying rack and couple of seats, inside the room has a desk and mini couch. TV is good with 60 international channels so something for everyone. Bed could be a little softer but it is clean and big with comfy pillows. You get a mini fridge which has a few drinks inside available to purchase. Great closet space and mini safe (never figured out how to use it but the staff feel so friendly and trustworthy I never worried). Bathroom is nice, shower has good pressure, water could be hotter but it’s still hot and nice. House keeping clean the room everyday and clean the place up really well, replacing all bedding and towels and mopping the floor. Can not complain about this place when comparing to the price, Grand La Walon has definitely gone above and beyond with my expectations, thanks...
