Semeru Depot
This old Depot is located at Jalan Semeru No. 27, Kauman, Malang, East Java. It is located in downtown Malang, not far from the city square of Malang, Malang City Hall and Malang train station commonly called new city station.
This Depot has long been owned and managed by a Chinese family of Malang who has long lived in generations in the city of Malang.
Distinctive feature of this Depot is the cakes, although also available foods such as fried noodles and others. Cakes typical of Depot Semeru include Cakue goreng, Kompiang, Kacang Kuwa, Fried Bread, Hexi / Ote, Plintiran and Moho. The basic ingredients of all the cakes are flour, then formulated in such a way and fried until brownish yellow. Besides Kacang Kuwa and Heci, other cakes provided a choice of spicy or sweet sauce as a cake flavoring.
The typical cake of Semeru Depot described earlier has become a typical cake of Malang city, especially Cakue goreng. This cake feels soft and savory with a little salty taste and if we dip into the sauce with spicy flavor, we will feel the sensation Cakue fry typical Depot Semeru. The price of the cake was moderate enough for the size of the city tourism class like city of Malang.
The service at Depot is quite fast and we are served kindly. A well maintained restroom is also available here.
Unfortunately this Depot does not have parking space, so parking vehicles are forced by the body of Jalan Semeru.
I suggest this place worth a visit, especially for those who want to taste how the special sensation of cake typical Semeru Depot which has become one of the culinary attractions in the city of Malang. And for all of that, I gave 4 stars to the...
