I recently dined at a family restaurant in Malang during a busy holiday dinner rush, and it was packed! Luckily, I managed to snag a spot on the second floor. The place itself is spacious, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options, which gives it a nice, open vibe.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, though there was a bit of a wait. It took around 30 minutes for all of my food to be served, which was understandable given the busy time. However, when my fried calamari and rice arrived first, I was a bit disappointed to have to wait for the sambal dabu-dabu I ordered to arrive. By the time it came, my food had cooled down, and it was a little bit of a letdown since I wanted everything to be fresh and hot.
As for the food itself, it was decent overall, but the Iga Bakar (grilled ribs) stood out as the highlight—it was absolutely delicious, tender, and full of flavor. The sambal dabu-dabu was fresh and vibrant, though extremely spicy, so be cautious if you're not a fan of heat!
Overall, the experience was pretty good, despite the minor delays. The tasty ribs and friendly service make it worth a visit, but it might be best to go during off-peak times if you’re looking to avoid...
Read moreArrived way too early to Malang and in dire search for comfortable breakfast place. After doing some Google research, I found out about Harmoni Café and Resto. They've 2 operational hours 6 AM to 9.30 AM for breakfast menu and 10 AM - 9.30 PM for regular restaurant menu. I really like their natural open concept with koi fishes pond, single chicken coop and many plants across the small garden area. In this visit for breakfast, I ordered their Nasi Liwet Solo (comfortable yet delicious rice topped with lodeh, shredded chicken, sweet soy egg and sambal) and Nasi Ayam Kremes Paha dengan Extra Kulit Gurih (rice and Indonesian style fried chicken thigh served with sambal and fried chicken skin). I also tried their Roti Jadul Special (toast with chocolate sprinkles and shredded cheese). For beverages, I ordered their Sweet Ice Tea. I also get complimentary assorted fried foods (rissoles and fried tofu) and butter pop corn. They're pretty busy and it's understandable since they offer breakfast menus with nice portions and reasonable price. For this visit for breakfast to Harmoni Café and Resto Malang, i'm gonna rate them 3.5 out of 5. For more info about foods, kindly visit...
Read moreOne of the best restaurants in Malang. Suitable for eating with family, friends, and even colleagues. It is possible to eat at a dining table or cross-legged. Coincidentally, when I was there, I chose to sit cross-legged. I wanted to sit on the balcony, but the employee said I couldn't. Maybe I had to make a reservation for a big event first. For the good and quick service, I can say it's good and unique, and for the food, I can say it's very good, for the appetizer, main course, and dessert. I love that coconut pudding has a lot of content and tastes fresh! perfect for dessert. Also, I love carp in sweet and sour sauce, and the portion is very big. Just some input for the mixed vegetables, it's a little lacking in seasoning. Maybe in the future, please pay attention again. As for the price, I can say that it is in accordance with the quality served, because the taste of the food and drinks is v v v delicious. Overall, I am very satisfied, even though my friends and I came here for the first time. The experience I got was...
