Jungle Tribe — Restaurant in North Sumatra

Teddy from the Jungle Tribe Questhouse treated us like family. He arranged everything for us for the cheapest and best price. We highly recommend Jungle Tribe Questhouse!||- We slept in both the top room as the bottom room. Both we recommend. Really nice hammock and in de morning we had monkeys visiting us on the balcony! When it's hot you can take a swim in the river. Jungle Tribe has a beatiful view of the jungle and lies higher on the river what makes the water more clean and the ambiance very nice. ||- Teddy was very honest and cooks the best meals (+ cocktails). A lot of diffrent choices and he makes it special every time. In the evening people come to play the guitar or play some games what makes a really homey feeling.||- We went jungle trekking (2days) with Tyson. He told us a lot about the diffrent plants and animals in the jungle and has a lot of respect for the wild. He's also very funny and has a great spirit! We saw a lot of orang oetangs and other animals. Everything was very good arranged with a lot of (the best) food. We would strongly advise to book through Jungle Tribe Questhouse and not at a tourist information center in the village. Best experieance ever!||- Teddy arranged someone from the village to go with us on a TukTuk and show us how they make brown sugar, tofu and the ricefields. We also drank out of coconuts and had lunch at a real indonesian place witch was amazing. A very amazing experiance.||- Pick up and drop of at the airport of Medan can also be arranged by Tedi even at 3 in the night (like us) it was no problem!||||We were quid sad to go after 5 nights, and promissed we would go back when we come to Sumatra again. I stayed at Jungle Tribe with a friend for a few nights before and after a 6 day jungle trek.||||The hammock and the views are outstanding! I was out there the whole time soaking in the jungle sounds and weather. The room is very comfortable and I loved the decor.||||We had a chicken live int eh roof and it would occasionally scurry about and make a noise. This didn't bother us, in fact we found it quite funny!||||Our toilet however didn't work and our shower only trickled out, and when it did it was cold.||||Other than that we had a really enjoyable stay at Jungle Tribe and I would recommend it to anyone. It is one bungalow with some of the best views and as people river tube by you can wave and it's a lot of fun.||||We also used a porter to and from the location with our big suitcase. The price to get it to the bungalow was 30,000, but the owner of Jungle Tribe tried to charge me 100,000 for the porter n our last day. I negotiated 50,000 considering I was only charged 30 initially.||||Just something to be wary of if staying here.||||The Jungle Tribe restaurant also has fantastic service and good food, however I would suggest Sam's Bungalow next door for a greater view (not that there is too much...
