Jungle Inn Bukit Lawang — Restaurant in North Sumatra

Jungle Inn was simply amazing ! Prepare yourself for a long detailed review . Everything was perfect and we had to share this experience. We’ve had the most amazing trip and we are still in awe with Jungle inn hospitality. The room was comfortable and clean . The whole hotel common space is beautiful and well maintained. The location is perfect with a full view of the forest , close to the river , making it peaceful and tranquil. However, it was the staff that stood out making everything more special. We were welcomed by Aldi , which was super kind and friendly explaining us everything. Everyone that would pass by us, would welcome us with a smile . We’ve had all our meals at the hotel and they were incredible ( our congratulations to the chef ! ) The waiter staff were lovely, always keen to help and suggest options. Blade , Ana and another sweet girl we weren’t able to catch the name, were super helpful and kind ! ( Coffee lovers note ) By the way, the coffee ! A big shout to the barista ! Coming from Australia we’ve managed our expectations imagining that indonesia would not beat Sydney coffee. However, the barista delivered a high standard coffee with beautiful latte art ! Thank you so much !

On our first day we did the day track jungle tour, which was more than perfect ! Ican and Rido , our guides, were super gentle making sure we were alright and enjoying everything. Their knowledge about the jungle and orangutans were exceptional and they helped us in every step. We’ve got to see 8 Orangutans ! They brought us luck ! As part of the tour there was massage included ! The two most amazing masseuse gave us a full body 1 hour massage and we were able to have a deep rest after the long trail .

On day two we went for a village tour with a lovely guide and tuktuk driver. We’ve had the most fun with them . They explained everything to us, being patient and kind. The community welcomed us with open arms showing everything around.

I want to give a special shout to our driver ( airport hotel lake toba ) , Asen , who was patient with everything through our long car journey. He drove safely and supported us through the way with toilet / food breaks . Always open to help he literally took an extra mile when we noticed we got the wrong suitcase and had to go back to the airport . Haha

Yes, all the above organized by Jungle Inn. Through this trip we were able to enjoy and rest without having to worry about anything.

We had such a nice and beautiful time in Jungle Inn! The hotel is designed with a lot of love and hard work, improved over the years. “Come as a friend, leave as family” is the label, and we can just commit. The whole crew is so friendly and nice and is welcoming everybody with their open minds. We had a lot of good conversations and everybody was very engaged to make our stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. We felt, that the people really meant to be nice, everybody was in a good mood and that’s just how they are!

As mentioned in the comments before, I can underline, that the food was very tasty and delicious! The chef combines local kitchen with international and everything we tried was exceptional.

Pickup- The hotel picked us up from the airport, it took around 4 hours to get to Bukit lawang, then we were met by 2 of the hotel staff that gave us a short scooter ride to the hotel. The village is tiny and the road is very narrow so there is only enough space for scooters not cars. ||Room - Our room was amazing with a large balcony and hammock overlooking the river. The view is spectacular, and we were often visited by monkeys! |We had a few mosquitos inside our room, but the bed had a mosquito net around it. We were in the jungle so it is to be expected after all. We had air-conditioning and drinking water was also provided. The bathroom was huge with hot water, shower gel and a shower.||Food - the food at his hotel was some of the best we had in Indonesia! If you stay here please try the Indonesian dishes they are amazing! Also Faris makes the best coffees! ||Staff - the staff at the jungle inn are what make this place so special! They are so dedicated and genuinely want to ensure you have an amazing holiday. Big shout out to Blake, Noora and Faris! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable 😊 Also, the staff want to practice their English so please sit and have a conversation with them if you can, it really helps them learn. ||Bukit lawang - I can't put into words how beautiful the village is! |There are some gorgeous shops selling handmade items and lots of little restaurants. We were so sad to leave, but I'm sure we will be back! ||The hotel offers trekking tours, we pre booked ours with a tour operator in the village, however we would book a tour with the hotel next time rather than a tour operator. ||We booked a car with the hotel to take us back to Medan airport, the driver was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the local area and history. ||Overall an amazing experience seeing the orangutans and a memorable stay at...
