Vegan Soul Cafe — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Only my partner is veggie and not me so I can say this with confidence: the Tempe satay here is better than most chicken satays I’ve had in Indonesia AND Malaysia. There’s a chargrilled taste on the satay that I’ve only had with meat before. The sauce is 12/10 delicious. you can really taste the good quality coconut oil that the Tempe is fried in or basted with (not sure how they prepare it). We shared our food, and the gado gado is a big portion and very mixed. We also had the hand cooked chips which were incredible, fried in coconut oil and delicious. We eat quite a lot and these three dishes almost defeated us. Good portion sizes here. Good price for the excellent quality. Well worth riding out to! Peaceful surroundings in the middle of the jungle. Stunning views. Friendly staff. Wouldn’t change a thing!

For some reason I completely forgot to do this review for like 4 months. We stayed there for 10 days with my partner and not just the bungalows where incredibly amazing but the food on that kitchen!! OMG 😮‍💨 the best vegan food I've ever tried traveling around Indonesia and so cheap that you will not believe it. The ladies working there are such a beautiful people, super kind and helpful.. I recommend this place to everyone who want to experience how is to being on the middle of the jungle with local people as neighbors. You will need a motorbike to go in and out, is 100% necessary, they can help you to rent one if you want or just look one by yourself nearby the port. This is an exceptional family-run business with staff who were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating a truly magical atmosphere. When I ran out of phone battery and my power bank wasn't working, they graciously helped me charge my phone. Such thoughtful service! The food was absolutely to die for! I ordered a burger with their house-made patty, which came with a side of fries. Everything was remarkably fresh and bursting with flavor. While it came generously sauced and my hands were completely covered, I'm certainly not complaining because it was delicious.
