Absolute amazing experience at the Arkamara.

Staff welcomed us with open arms, they were very friendly and answered any questions we had. Every time we saw them they gave us a warm welcome and asked us if we needed anything. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and they decorated our bed with a “happy birthday” message. Best service I have had at a hotel ever. We were treated like kings and queens. I could write an entire essay of how staff went above and beyond for us.

Food was amazing, the included breakfast was very filling and had lots of options to choose from. The drinks were very tasty as well. I recommend trying the floating breakfast one day. The events each day at the restaurants on the resort had a great variety of Balinese culture and music. The pool was very warm and had a great view of the jungle.

We received a massage at the spa onsite and it was well worth it. The staff made us feel very relaxed and “at home”

The resort was very clean, beds were so comfy and the room service was incredible.

From the moment we walked in, this restaurant exceeded all expectations. The ambience is absolutely perfect — warm, inviting, and tastefully decorated, creating the ideal setting whether you’re out for a romantic dinner or a special night with friends.

The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients are a priority here, and the attention to detail in every bite was impressive.

What truly set this place apart, though, was the outstanding service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our experience enjoyable. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, which made us feel both valued and relaxed throughout the evening.

Nice setting but overall The Kaukau let us down a little in terms of expectations.

As with everywhere (that we experienced in Ubud) the service was lovely, warm and friendly. The team there are super hospitable. They were let down by the food though. Reviews on here are outstanding so maybe we didn’t choose well or they had an off night. I had crispy duck which was dry as a bone and very lean in terms of meat. Partner had oxtail soup (as she was not overly hungry) but this was incredibly meagre - one piece of meat in the whole bowl.

Flavours were ok but mediocre for 4.9 on Google and certainly no better than lower rated city centre restaurants in Ubud.

There was just nothing to justify the high scores we saw and that drew us to the place. Outside of the lovely team of course. Corn fritters were ok, dumplings pretty standard (and I don’t think prepared on site).
