Chamas is a great place for meat & wine lover. My brother & I went there yesterday and both of us enjoyed the food, the ambience and the warmth service very well. The buffet food selection is limited but dessert are generous. You may need not to take too much on these and reserve more space for the grilled items. I can sense that they use all best quality materials & ingredients. The vegetables were fresh, the meat was succulent, the wine selection was generous. This is even much better than the usual spot I have in Jakarta.
Now let's talk about the star of the show: The meat. We had plenty favourite parts yesterday such as cupim (hump), alcatra with mustard, shrimp & squid, beef bacon, and the sausages. The cupim was cooked into perfection. It melted in my mouth. Combined with nice wine making it a wonderful enjoyment. Alcatra is very good as it should be. Medium rare with all beef flavour sought by carnivore eater. Bacon was amazing. Crispy but not to dry. Shrimp & squid were cooked well. Not too tough and full of flavours inside out. The sausages were captivated me. They had three types: beef, chicken & beef with cheese. All three were sensational. I hardly find these sausages in Indonesia. Last but not least, do not forget the good sweety & fragrant pineaple in between meat to balance your pallate.
Another amazing part was the service. The servers were quick and always made sure that your plate is never empty except if you chose to do so. We also met & talked with Chef Patricio, the amazing man behind all of this. Chef Patricio takes everything on his hand directly whenever necessary including in bringing food to table & serving to customers.
The price may look at high end especially for Surabaya environment but the experience is unbeatable. Overall, we had amazing time with good food and good experience. This is a very good place to have a little treat...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of having lunch at Chamas, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a beautiful and well-thought-out interior that immediately set the tone for a relaxed meal. It strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and a touch of elegance, making it ideal for both a business lunch or a casual get-together with friends.
The service was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and made sure I felt welcomed. They were attentive without being intrusive, always ready to refill drinks or provide recommendations when needed. It’s rare to find a team that combines professionalism with such friendliness — and Chamas certainly delivers on that front.
As for the food, it was exceptional. The menu offered a great selection of dishes, and everything we ordered was prepared with care and attention to detail. The flavors were well-balanced, and you could tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used. Each dish was beautifully presented, adding to the overall experience as servent with Kak Rully
The lunch portions were just right — satisfying without being overwhelming — and the pace of service was perfect, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a comfortable, unhurried pace. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.
Overall, Chamas exceeded my expectations. It’s a place where good food, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance come together seamlessly. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable lunch spot, whether you’re dining alone, with friends, or for a special occasion.
I can’t wait to return and try more...
Read moreIt's actually an all-you-can-eat place, Brazillian style, located in Vasa hotel. It opens from 12 to 3 PM and 6 -10 PM, with a siesta in between. Reservation is strictly required. Do come with an empty stomach, cause the set consists of so many parts of a cow, chicken wings, chicken thighs and Australian lamb. They even provide a chip to signal when you have enough or when your stomach capacity still demands more food. At first, I had my doubts about trying the all-you-can-eat set, which consists of a regular and a premium (differs by several types of meat). However the waiter managed to convince us, with the slight price differences, we have so much to gain by not choosing the ala carte menu. Oh my, it's really worth every penny. From all the rounds that they brought over to the table on a huge metal skewer (the first three or four were captured on camera, then the taste of the meat shifted my focus from taking pictures) my favorite would be picanha. Kudos to the Brazilian chef!
During reservation, I mentioned that my son is having his birthday and the whole staff was being extremely sweet, bringing a birthday cake and singing in unison. Not only does this place serve really good food, but it also has friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommended place to have tasty juicy meat and a really great time.
Btw, their mocktails and the hot chocolate as dessert are perfect closing to all those meat.
Oh, parking system. Payment for parking can be done in the lobby or by using...
