Indigo Restaurant — Restaurant in Surabaya

Located inside the Hotel Majapahit, it is a fairly good dining restaurant with a decent collection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Ambience is good although lighting can be improved upon in some areas at night. Staff are courteous and friendly and service is good. The only drawback is that English is poorly understood but this is almost the same all over Indonesia. You have to make sure that the waiter understands your order if you don't want to be served a wrong dish. We ate breakfast and dinner there. Patronage seemed low which may be due to its closeness to Tunjungan Plaza which has a lot of eateries. Indonesian cuisines seem to be better prepared than continental dishes. The food was not delicious. I ordered spring rolls. My husband ordered the meat. From the editor's menu section. The meat was tough and we brought this food back to the kitchen. I ordered strawberry tea. They brought me a teapot with an inexpensive brand tea bag inside: this is a bad way, you can't do that. Tea should be leafy for that price. The restaurant is located in a beautiful expensive hotel, but the impression was very mediocre from the food.

Everything in this hotel is just beyond words. The food, atmosphere which is very quiet and high class, the staff and especially Chef Malik is so welcoming and friendly. Even though I'm a local, it feels incomplete to skip having something from this place, so at least that you can have your own tour around the hotel after.
