My Kopi-O! — Restaurant in Yogyakarta

I was just passing by this place and decided to try it. I came at around 6PM and it was less crowded. The vibes are on point, the service is top-notch, and the food? please, don't get me started on this. Went for the Nasi Goreng Babat (Beef Tripe Fried Rice), Chicken Chop with Carbonara Sauce, Salted Egg Chicken, and Brown Sugar Croffle. The portion was no joke—big enough to share!

Nasi Goreng Babat was a flavor bomb, those Indonesian spices and tender tripe nailed it. Complete pickles, prawn crackers and a sunny side up, what could be better than this? 8.5/10. Chicken Chop Carbonara stole the show for me. The chicken was so tender, great flour-blend, thick carbonara sauce, and the salad? Perfection. A solid 9/10 for me. Salted Egg Chicken was decent, but maybe a bit too salty for my liking. 7.5/10. Ended my feast with a Brown Sugar Croffle, no extra sauces for the OG goodness. 8/10, approved by a sweet tooth (a.k.a, me!)

Do yourself a favor and try their Iced Chocolate. Mega chocolatey with a hint of choco malt and a bit of bitterness. 8/10. Lastly, their Iced Green Tea was decent as well—blends smooth with just the right sweetness. 8/10. Eyeing their coffee for my next round....

Walking into My Kopi O feels like stepping into one of those places that simply gets it right. The space is wide and versatile, you can hide inside with the cool air, or sit outside and light up, feeling the breeze kiss your skin. Either way, it's the kind of spot that can host everything: late brunches, group hangouts, or even those long reflective evenings when you just want to sit with your thoughts.

And the portions? oh darling, they don't play small here. Every plate arrives like a promise, and before you know it, you're torn between finishing everything or surrendering gracefully. Some dishes are so generously served, the plates themselves come out long, wide, and bold... leaving you to wonder if the chef was secretly winking at us all.

But what truly seals the deal is their signature ES TEH TARIK. Creamy frothy, irresistibly sweet, something about it lingers like a kiss you're not ready to let go of.

In the end, My Kopi O isn't just about food. It's about indulgence, laughter that echoes across the room, and reminder that sometimes the best meals aren't measured by calories, but by the way they make...

12 Desember 2024/ Mesen nasi lemak beef rendang sama pandan choco kaya. Nasi lemaknya piringnya panjang banget, isinya nasi lemak dibalut daun pisang, beef rendang, acar salad, teri kacang, 1 butir telur rebus diiris, dan ketimun iris dengan sambel di atasnya. Rasa nasi lemaknya subtle, daun pisangnya bikin rada repot sih habis dibuka mau ditaruh mana, tapi untungnya karena piringnya panjang bisa ditaruh di salah satu sudut dengan lauk lauk lain digeser memadat. Daun pisangnya berguna buat njaga nasinya tetap hangat sih. Beef rendangnya ada potongan kentang dan wortel juga, secara rasa sih nggak kayak rendang ya, lebih ke empal balado (?) tapi lunak khas kukus/rebus/presto, bukan goreng. Teksturnya lembut, rasanya gurih manis dengan sedikit pedes, kentang dan wortelnya nambah variasi tekstur. Acar saladnya ada ketimun, wortel, bawang merah, dan selada dipotong bite size dilabur sedikit cuka, sama cherry tomato dibelah dua. Enak buat tambahan rasa dan tekstur. Teri kacangnya standar, manis gurih sedikit pedes dengan mouthfeel alot. Telur rebusnya plain, jadi dibuat partner campuran lauknya yang udah macem macem. Sambelnya nggak terlalu berasa. Pandan choco kaya itu es cokelat dengan krim di atasnya, terus dikasih roti kering manis dengan selai hijau (pandan?). Pretty good tapi sejujurnya tastes like another es cokelat.

Tempatnya luas, kebetulan makan dalam rangka pertemuan jadi di ruang pertemuan, full AC. Sempat khawatir duduk pas depan AC bakal kedinginan tapi ternyata nyaman juga, nggak kerasa hembusannnya. Mereka nyediain proyektor dan LCD. Pelayanannya cepet, dan pesenannya dibawa masuk dengan hati hati biar nggak ngganggu alur pertemuannya. Ada wastafel dengan sabun untuk cuci tangan, juga ada toilet, bersih. Ada musholla dengan tempat wudhu. Parkirnya di halaman depan, cukup luas tapi karena pelanggannya banyak jadi padat juga. Ada tukang parkir yang ngatur alur mobil masuk keluar, jadi ekstra mbayar parkir.

Overall tempatnya nyaman, tapi not impressed sama makanan dan minumannya. Secara rasa standar dengan harga yang lumayan mahal. Yang dijual lebih ke tempatnya yang strategis...
