Soto Ayam Pak Man Sagan — Restaurant in Yogyakarta

How do you know that an establishment is really a local favourite? When you see people turning up for breakfast in their pajamas. True, I saw 2 kids & their mom in pajamas. The soto is great, refreshing, flavourful. There's also that Yogyanese soto signature, "lenthok" (fried cassava ball) in the soto.

This is ramadhan (fasting month for Muslims), and they are quite packed. I can't imagine when it's not fasting month. Since they open at 06.00 am, I suggest going early, the later the more crowded it gets.

The liver, gizzard & intestine sate were good too. Mendoan is also good, freshly fried, and still hot.

The Ibu is also very friendly. She greets every customer who comes in. Price is very affordable too. I spent Rp. 24,000 (less than $2) for a complete meal: • a bowl of soto • 3 sate • 2 mendoan • hot tea...

Super comforting taste of soto ayam!! It consists of rice, fresh and light chicken broth, shredded chicken, sohun, cabbage, and chopped tempeh bacem. The usus satay is also yummy! I suggest you to take away the meals, as you'll get kinda larger portion than if you choose to dine in. But if you came here for travelling, make sure you bring your own bowl/lunch box to eat it in your hotel room. The price of 2 soto ayam and 2 usus satay is 25.000 as of August 2022. Super...
