There's something so comforting about having a local coffee shop, and we are so lucky to have Cafe Moly as ours! Dan, Sumi and the team have brought such life to Douglas Street, with both their amazing coffee and pastries and their warm, welcoming personalities. You know you've found a good spot when they know your order, your flatmates order and your dogs name off by heart and always welcome you with a smile and a good morning! The lads KNOW their coffee, have a great selection to choose from and are always happy to have a chat about what variety might suit you best. I've been trying to find the best coffee in Cork and Café Moly is a surprising contender. 'Surprising' only because they're in a small, light-filled corner space away from the busy streets and crowds. And because of all of the places I have had suggested to me, they never came up. That's a plus, for me, but what matters is that their coffee is beyond equal in the city so far. Calling themselves a "micro-roastery" they have multiple roasts available to buy in bags, and two available for immediate intravenous (I wish) caffeine consumption. Even their ham and cheese croissant and pastel de nata are possibly the best I have ever had.
