The BEST food around! The restaurant was really cute with lovely Palestinian decor 🇵🇸 🍉 the team were so friendly and put so much passion into the cuisine! The owner even came out to introduce himself and ensure we enjoyed our meal!
We got the sage tea pot - I had never had sage tea before but ended up buying a bag to take home it was so delicious! Ended up getting 2 pots. 🫖
We got the tasters mix to get started which has a selection of the appetisers which I really recommend cause you get to try a lot at once. It had 3 hummus variations - regular, beetroot and avocado - probably the creamiest hummus I’ve ever had! It also had Babaganoush, Makdous, Tabbouleh, vine leaves, and pickles mix with a fresh bread. This could easily be shared by 5 people!
Then we had the Musakhan rolls - I have never had anything like this before, they were absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend trying! And the portions were massive! Such great bang for your buck! 🫔
The menu is extremely friendly for vegan and vegetarian diets.
We also got a special dessert that isn’t currently on the menu called Kanafeh. This was unbelievable and I hope it gets added to the menu soon! But the saffron cake and cinnamon roll looked incredible too!
Will 100% be back and can’t wait to try the rest of this...
Read moreWhat to say about izz café?!?!? Visited cork for the long weekend and (two of us) were looking forward to discovering the cafe. The visit exceeded expectations SO MUCH:
We started with the sharing platter. A feast for the eyes, but more importantly an extraordinary mixture of traditional flavours (the Babaganoush was out of this world) and creative twists (the beetroot Hummus was a delicious surprise), and you don't want to share that yummy bread, you will surely order extra breads!
Then we got "Magloubeh", the iconic Palestinian rice/vegetable/ and chicken dish. Nothing I can write here comes close to describing the amazing blend of flavours in this dish.
I ordered mini Fatayer (spinach triangles) for takeaway. I was expecting bite size pieces, what came out was much larger pieces (as per below photo), and for that I apologise to the staff for questioning the price. Those pies are a beautiful burst of deliciousness with every bite. Worth every cent and much more!!!! Best fateyer ever (even better than the delicious ones back home in Lebanon).
Last but not least, a big shout out for the owners and the staff, for their kindness, generosity and "service with a smile" with all what their loved ones, families and compatriots are going through back in their...
Read moreMy American husband and I recently visited Cork from Dublin. We were excited to eat here because I’m Palestinian Jordanian, and my husband loves my mom’s food. We had low expectations because Middle Eastern ingredients are hard to find in Ireland and we expected the recipes to be adapted to Irish tastes. But as many previous reviews have noted, this is the real deal! We loved it so much we went back two days later. We had the Zaatar/cheese manakeesh combo (as good as the best bakers in Amman), the msakhan (authentic spices and generous amount of topping), the mince meat (sfeeha), the magdoos (exactly like home), the spinach pies (to die for!!!), the warbat (wonderful crunchy layers and satisfyingly sweet), cinnamon roll (OMG! Not Palestinian but delicious!) and the Palestinian coffee (spot on). The spinach pies are my favorite, so tart and flavorful. If you’re thinking that you don’t want a tart savory pie, you’re wrong...this is perfection. Second favorite would be the Zaatar and cheese manakeesh—a classic done right. Izz and Eman make me proud as a Palestinian, and I wish/hope that they open a branch in Dublin. I’d be there every other day! Until then, my husband and I are already planning our next visit to Cork just...
