The Mardyke Entertainment Complex — Restaurant in Cork

Used to love this place. Went to do karoake a couple of weeks ago in a group of girls. We did the karoake for two hours, good service from karoake staff and very friendly, even joining our group in karoake at times but once we left we were treated as scum by the events receptionist. The girl who works in the events booking followed us into the bathroom with plastic cups for the drinks we had purchased during the karoake. We were simply going to finish our drinks, go to the bathroom and leave but to be followed into the bathroom after paying over €140 for just the 2 hours of karoake is absolutely ridiculous. We are a group of mid 20 year olds who had paid for our services in full with a good tip for the karoake staff and caused no hassle. Whilst I appreciate kicking out overly rowdy or drunk people it was early in the evening at around 7 o clock and to be treated like a group of troublemakers followed into the bathroom by one singular member of staff has left a bad taste in my mouth. Definitely worth going there,would 100% recommend to anyone who wants to have a bit of craic and enjoy the your night. Now at the start there was a minor hiccup with the details of our reservation but I would let that take anything away from the amount of stars in my review. The Duty manger that was on was an absolute 💯 credit to the the place. If I had a business of my own I would definitely try to poach her as she was an absolute trojan. She restructured our booking and literally asked us were we okay for everything on a frequent basis through out the night. As it was the stag of my brother in law and we planned on going bowling but unfortunately that didn't go to plan. The Duty manger I think if memory serves me right her name was Marion brought us out our food which to be honest was off the chain unbelievable. Brought my 10 year old and friends for a birthday party.... never again !

I know its a bar but as a venue for kids there should not be any drinking/smoking advertisements flashing up on TV screens.

Party was supposed to be 2 hours but Kids food was delivered almost 15 min before bowling ended. This left the kids with nothing to do for quiet a while as they waited for the cake to arrive. As no one came to clear plates/empty bottles etc we had the kids move to the table beside us for cake as there simply wasn't room.

The 4 adults ordered food and it came out in drips and drips, final order of chips came out when every was finishing up eating. It's chips not rocket science, I shouldn't have to go to the counter to remind them.

Seated area behind the bowling lanes where we had the party has a lovely view into the male toilets where while eating you can see other men pee..........
