Went in for an early dinner, and were the only ones in the restaurant. We were seated promptly, but no one came to take our order for 15 minutes, and we were on the verge of leaving. Finally, the server came, and we ordered a ribeye steak, medium rare. There were a lot of extras included in the meal (two types of potatoes, asparagus, salad, etc) but in the interest of saving food, we requested only the chips. When the steak did come, all the extras were on the plate, wasted, since we didn't actually want them. The steak was also WELL done. Not, medium, not even medium-well. Most of it had no pink at all, and the rest, only a trace of pink. It was DONE and TOUGH. No one came back to the table to check on us after the food was delivered. The other meal we ordered was completely eaten before anyone came back to ask if we were finished. We explained that the steak was inedible, and they offered to make another one. We declined, as at this point, dinner was over for us and why would we want to wait for a second attempt? We spoke to three different people before someone finally agreed to take the steak off the bill, which was appreciated. However, there was significant attitude accompanying this concession. You can't ignore customers for the entirety of their stay, especially when no one else is dining. The inedible steak would have been easier to overlook if there had been any level of customer service at all, which there was not. We saw no fewer than a dozen employees running back and forth past our table, but none ever stopped, or acknowledged our attempts to flag them down. This is a nice restaurant, but the staff...

I don't like giving not great feedback but it's what reviews are all about. We booked The in for a meal and the booking way was excellent as even though we called to say we would be 10min late they didn't mind and were very accommodating. Covid setup was excellent and the place was spotless and looked really well. The staff was excellent and helpful but I'm afraid we were a bit disappointed with the food. We started with drinks and as I was driving I asked for a mineral in a pint glass with ice, only to be told they would have to charge for 2 minerals which seems to be a policy as the table near us asked the same and were told the same. I only wanted a mineral with ice and its fits better in a pint glass. We both had the chicken wings starter and they were excellent, well presented and delicious, I had the Indian chicken curry which I found the chicken very dry and I'm no chef but seemed like it was just tossed in the sauce and served, the sauce was not spicy and seemed reheated and the naan bread was not fresh (again I'm no chef) My wife had a pizza as the main course and I think they over done it with the leaf topping as you had to remove 3 quarters of it to Get at the pizza. There was also prawns on it that didn't seem cooked through.

Again I don't like any negative feed back but I feel with this review that they will do something to rectify it as that's the type of business the plaza Group runs and we have eaten in their other places and it could not be faulted. Staff was excellent I...

Where to begin.

We arrived for our birthday celebration booking at 8:30pm as booked but we were asked to wait outside until 8:45pm. Unfortunately the surprise balloons we had dropped off earlier were left outside by the entrance, so much for a surprise.

We go onto ordering drinks, when the bottle of wine arrived it was a bottle of white wine instead of red. When asked, the server then brought 2 bottles, no menu and asked us which one we wanted but couldn’t tell us how much either of them costed. We were also told we could only get 4 types of beer, despite all the tables around us having different ones to the ones being offered. Apparently that area only had 4 beers, it must’ve been only that table in the middle of the beer garden that has a particularly restricted beer selection.

We have our meals, half of which were quite disappointing. We were then offered desserts, despite us bringing a cake for singing happy birthday. After clarifying we had left a cake for the table they bring it out, still in the box, with the two candles still in their packaging and some small plates. We asked for a lighter and set up our own cake. Unfortunately the server didn’t think we would need forks or spoons for the cake so we had to ask for these as well.

Finally, it started to rain a bit more and we all got our drinks topped up by the rain that dripped through the beer garden roof.

Nice...

The food at Coveys was undeniably delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired. My sister booked in advance and mentioned it was a birthday celebration, yet not once did anyone wish the birthday girl a "Happy Birthday" without us prompting them. The service throughout the meal was shockingly poor. Our server took our orders but didn’t even offer us drinks or any refreshments. Once we finished our meal, we sat there for over 30 minutes before we had to flag down a waiter to clear our plates and order dessert. It honestly felt like we had been placed at a forgotten table in the back and ignored. To add to the frustration, we had to flag down another server just to get the bill. No one came to check on how our meal was, nor did they ask if we needed anything during the course of our dinner. While the food was fantastic, the lack of basic service really detracted from the overall experience. Sadly, it’s unlikely we’ll return, as good food can’t make up for feeling neglected.

We have visited this bar 3 times, with one slight mishap. For some reason after booking for 12pm, and they accepted. We arrived to be told it doesn't open until 12:30. Why they didn't tell us this at time of booking seems strange. However the food here is good and wholesome. With some really stand out choices on the menu. I highly recommend the food here. It gets busy around lunch time so it is wise to either come early or book. I tried the big burger and it was so filling I didn't eat anything for the rest of the day. I didn't have a starter either, and decided against having mushrooms as it sounded massive from the menu. I was right and it was a delicious challenge. Wifey and I recommend

Dined for Easter Sunday lunch, took the off chance to pop in for a table for 2, staff amazingly accommodated instantly. Brilliant friendly service. Sunday roast lamb was exactly what we needed, seafood chowder to start, homemade brown bread perfectly accompanied. The gravy lamb jus, just simply delicious enhanced our mains. Great to be able to order 1/2 bottles of wine, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc enhanced the chowder, with a bustling Merlot setting off the Lamb, with an inviting and highly decorated ambiance, one of the nicest Sunday lunches in quite a while.. we will be back 👍🏼☺️
