Genuinely had one of the worst customer experiences of my life here on Saturday 9th of July celebrating my sisters 30th birthday.
The first negative experience was when I just arrived and ordered a pint for myself and a non-alcoholic beer for my partner. When I asked for the non-alcoholic beer, the person behind the bar said “no we don’t have that”. I went and got the menu to show him which beer I wanted. He then repeated what I originally asked for but pronounced it slightly differently with a smug tone in his voice. I thought nothing of this and assumed it was just an attempt at humour.
Secondly, I went to the bar with my brother and ordered a drink for myself and asked my brother what he’d like, to which he asked if they have Peroni or Morreti. The same bar man, very rudely said “look what’s on the menu” and gestured to the blackboard wall behind him and walked away. At this stage I realised he wasn’t joking and it seemed as though he did not want us there and was indifferent to us.
Finally, I went back up to the bar one last time to order a non-alcoholic gin and tonic for my partner. The same barman, again in an extremely rude tone said “we don’t have that”, rolled his eyes and walked away. I responded to say that they do, as we had only ordered one 30 minutes prior. He then said “yeah the bottle is empty”. I don’t know why he couldn’t just say there was none left. At this this stage I was extremely angry and frustrated. I turned to another barman and asked “what is his problem?” to which he just shrugged his shoulders and seemed to be embarrassed by his colleagues behaviour. I asked that same barman if I could speak to a manager and was told the barman that served me was the manager. I therefore decided to just leave. As did the rest of the party 15 minutes after.
All of the other staff were lovely. Food and drinks were great. But the whole night was ruined by this one extremely rude, unprofessional staff member.
This was my first time back in the Brickyard since before Covid. I used to be a frequent customer and have had multiple social events here with friends over the years since it opened (including my own 30th birthday in 2019). However, after this last experience I will...
Read moreplace looks cool, food is good but service not so great, very disappointing actually. had a team reunion there tonight and sharing platters menu price says €15 per person but when you have a group you actually have to pay for at least 10 people at once, which should mean 10x portions of the selected category we were ordering but instead we got just one round of food on the table with the excuse that the portions were a bit more generous (but not really). it seems that the communication about the price for individuals and groups is way to confusing, not clear at all. but the worst for me was actually the service. floor manager and another woman who might be a supervisor seemed very uninterested and sharp, no intentions on clarifying the whole sharing platters story or even offer a kind and nice service which is the bare minimum for me. as a customer I didn’t feel welcomed at all, apart from the girl who was getting drinks orders at the beginning of the night. after a while I dont know what happened but the girls had to keep going to the bar cause there was no one looking after our tables at all. just not a nice atmosphere, its a pitty since we were looking forward to maybe have our christmas party there, not anymore...
Read moreBeen living in the area a year and finally got here. Got drinks last night and brunch this morning. Atmosphere both times of day were great, exactly what I enjoy. Laid back, relaxed and chill. Drinks were good. Guinness was a bit watery but not terrible. Definitely a bit expensive but where isn’t nowadays. Stupid Dublin prices.
Brunch this morning was exceptional. Got the CBA and it was divine. Great coffee too. Going to suggest this place for food for now on, definitely worth it.
If I had one complaint it would be that the service took a bit longer than I would have liked. Servers also didn’t come over to us for a while when we wanted to order. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, (there was 7 of us, so lots to cook for, and we were waiting on some people to arrive, so maybe that’s why they weren’t coming over) but just going off a few other reviews I thought I’d mention it.
Can’t wait to try dinner here, I’ve a feeling I’ll be in...
