Paddy, Amy and the team here run a beautiful pub in the centre of the village, 2 mins away from the centre. Whilst it has that traditional feel, the Ryan family has brought the venue right up to date, always busy, in fact, full even mid week lunchtime. I was told by 2 local lady's how much they loved Dundrum Hpuse and had met here every week for lunch for almost 20 years and in their words "some places are never as good as they used to be but Ryan's has got better each year" a rare a lovely thing to hear from regulars. The food coming out looked fantastic. I have to admit I misjudged this place before arriving but was genuinely surprised. First time I had breakfast here, it was very tasty. The staff were a tad cold, but good food. The second time I went for breakfast, ooooh! Bit of a Michael Douglas Falling Down moment. The lady handed me a different menu to the last day. I asked 'Where's the breakfast menu?' 'Breakfast's there,' she says, pointing and disappears. What she was pointing at was All Day Breakfast. Didn't want that, wanted the lovely bacon and pancakes that come with the Brekkie Menu. After a few minutes when she didn't return, I go to the menu-rack. We used to be regulars before COVID hit. After it re-opened we started going there, but the quality of the service had decreased. Recently we tried giving another shot again, and we were pleasantly surprised! The steak sandwich regained it deliciousness! The chicken wings are delicious! One of the specials was hake with prosciutto which was absolutely fabulous! The house burger is also amazing. The cheesecake was so nice and fluffy, and not overly sweet. All the nice flavours, well cooked. They have a new chef, Ross, who is really nice and friendly. He does something that you don't see often: he comes to the tables and actually asks how the food is.
