I recently dined at Rasam in Sandycove and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. It Ticks my Halal Options for chicken and lamb. 100% Halal Certified. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, with tasteful decor and a cozy atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and accommodating.
As for the food, I thoroughly enjoyed most of the dishes I ordered.
Starters: The Trio Chicken 3/5 Prawns starter 5/5 they were delicious, and the presentation was visually appealing.
Main Courses: The Butter Chicken 4/5 Lamb Curry 3/5 Prawns Curry 4/5 They were flavorful, well-balanced, and exceeded my expectations. We left some lamb pieces in the plate as it wasn’t that soft and was chewy but the taste balanced it out. The Curd raita was unexpectedly delicious. Rice, and Butter Naan complemented the curries perfectly. For dessert, I ordered the Brownie 5/5 Pannacota 5/5 Kulfi 5/5 They were all indulgent and satisfying. Well dressed with strawberries and some kesar powder to balance spice and citrus.
Overall, I personally would give Rasam 4 out of 5 stars. The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was lovely. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is that some dishes were not as exceptional as the others. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend Rasam to anyone looking for a fine dining experience. As the hospitality was at its best.

Read moreMy husband and I were visiting Dun Laoghaire for his birthday and booked a table at Rasam for our last night there to enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine. From the moment we walked into this beautiful restaurant, Mr. Lakshmi and his team gave us a friendly, warm welcome. He was very helpful in suggesting dishes and accomodating our taste preferences. Every dish we ordered that evening was unique with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. I loved the palak patta chaat, with its combination of flavors, and the mango prawn were cooked perfectly. At the end of our meal, the friendly staff brought over a dessert to celebrate my husband's birthday, and a cup of masala Chai tea that Mr. Lakshmi had made for me when I'd mentioned earlier how much I missed it from our trip to India a few years ago. Their attention to detail meant so much and was truly appreciated. Before we left, we shared with Mr. Nisheeth how much we'd enjoyed the evening, and how we wished there was a restaurant like this where we live in Florida that we could enjoy more often. He surprised us with a visit to their kitchen and introduced us to the chefs and staff. They showed us how they made one of our favorites, the peshawari naan and even gifted us with some of it to take for breakfast the next day. All of them made our evening so special, and it isn't surprising that this restaurant was awarded "best in all Ireland world cuisine" - so...
