My husband and I had lunch here and were so disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the salmon and asked to swap the chips for the lemon mashed potato. The salmon fillet was small and tasted dry - if I was to guess it had been frozen. The mashed potato was bland and the portion was small - approximately two dessert spoons. I asked for more mashed potato, the server said no problem and promptly brought it out on a plate with a bit of side salad a couple of minutes after my request. I asked the waiter where the salmon was sourced from (as on the menu it says fish sourced locally) to which he replied he didn't know but it's Irish. I asked if he knew where in Ireland and he said no but it's Irish. I said most restaurants would know where it was sourced but he was disinterested and had no intention of finding out. A bit irritated I asked if it was frozen but he said no... My husband had chicken wings to start with (again portion size was small for the price) and he had a pasta dish for main which he said tasted nice. We didn't have dessert as I hadn't enjoyed my main course and my husband wasn't overly impressed with his starter. When the bill arrived, I had been charged €6 for the extra mash potato - I flagged to our waiter the initial portion of potato was very small - he subsequently spoke to the owner who said they'd take €1 off the price of it. Overall this was a really disappointing meal. The quality was poor, the staff's knowledge of where the food has been sourced was non existent and I really would not recommend this restaurant. There was only one other person in the restaurant with us on this Friday afternoon but I say due to the good location it would be much busier in...

We decided to give this restaurant another try as we haven't been in about 15 years and couldn't remember any reasons for not going back.

Positives: Nice table upstairs by the window (as requested) with great views of the sea front Good service. The waiter was attentive and our food came out in good time.

Negatives: Quiet ambiance. We had decided to have an early bird meal but had to ask the server for the menu when we sat down as we were only given the a la carte menu Early bird menu appeared to be good value but we noticed a supplement of 3 euro to add a side to a main dish. The chicken portion was small and came with nothing else if you did not opt to pay for a side. A la Carte is expensive for what you get. I added prawns to a pizza and it cost 4.50 euro for 4 x prawns. I also opted for a side of seasonal veg at 7 euro and was extremely disappointed with a sad looking side plate of 2 x bits of brocolli, 3 x carrot sticks and a baby potato sliced in half. Not worth 7 euro. The desserts were also expensive at 9 euro.

The restaurant food and service is good but I think that the food is overpriced for what you're getting and based on the pricing alone, I would not be likely to...

My beautiful girlfriend brought me here Friday night as a surprise, the minute i walked in i knew i was going to love it. The aroma and decor sold it for me before i even had looked at the menu, the place reminded me of restaurants i had been to in Italy. for starters i had the stuffed sweet peepers; they had been stuffed with veal and risotto and just tasted amazing. My girlfriend had very simple bruschetta but it tastes amazing as the tomatoes were fresh and was seasoned perfectly and proper extra virgin olive oil. for mains i had carbonara, proper chunks of pancheta and my god the sauce an extra bowl of just sauce and i would have been in heaven. My girlfriend had penne in tomato sauce with fillet beef, was heavy but again beautiful taste and i helped finish it off :) finally i had poached pear and she had berry crumble just lovely and perfect way to finish off great night. the service was excellent, very friendly and i loved the decor and backround music. basically ill be back again and again and again while im here in Dublin for the summer. oh and sorry came to €54 which for me was reasonable considering the quality of food...

Have been here for the first time and reading the great reviews my friend and I were really looking forward to have lunch here. Restaurant is lovely, nicely layed out, with a great view which currently is a bit suffering from the construction work going on on the sea side. Foodwise we were disappointed as we had checked in on a few things and felt misadvised, and it wasn't as tasty as one would have hoped for. We also felt it was a bit pricey, especially as we weren't convinced by the taste. As other people really like it here, it might really just be an unlucky day or we ordered the wrong meals, though these reviews are subjective anyhow, so am just sharing my personal view. For completeness, we had the Calamari as starter (which we thought are fried), the linguine a pesce, salad with shrimps.

Food was really bad I'm sorry to say. Chicken tasted like stagnant water due to the bad quality parma ham inside.. Service very good especially when you send the food back. But they do not check back tables after serving which is so important to ask a customer If they are happy with the food. I had to call the waiter myself to send back a terrible dry hake. It was frozen for sure. And 28euro, terrible presentacion with 2 pieces of broccoli. Sad looking plate. Disappointing 70e spent... Would recommend getting some chefs in there that want to be there as the food tells me they have no interest! Unfortunately would not go back.

The restaurant is not Italian. By any mean. The food is like Italian but has nothing from the authenticity and freshness of the Italian kitchen. The pizza is like from a super market. We tried the Margerita. The pastas were full of sauce with cream. I haven't seen Italian recipe for Carbonara with Milk cream. Similarly for the Tagliatelle with Salmon. Polo fiorentina also swimming in Milk sauce . The only ok dish was the Gnocchi di patate. Finally they didn't even bother to have fresh Parmesan for the past. Obviously the chef is not Italian and I geneiousky wonder why it's rated so high.
