I been today there with few friends and my wife and we didn't had very good time to be honest. I rarely scoring restaurant with low score as this one but I genuinely have to. Bad experience
We choose this place cuz it's dog friendly and this is only reason I didn't score it less then that. Cuz it's nice to come to Dublin to visit friends with my dog and not to be worried that I can't have a lunch somewhere inside cuz I have a dog. So very nice thing from the owner!
About service, today was absolutely a joke unfortunately. 5 people came in order food and drinks. Friend get her burger first, after around 10min other two friends get their burgers and then 5min after wife and me get our food. Burger, pizza and loaded fries. We came together but couldn't eat together. Probably due to way how they take orders on top floor, there is no waiters so you have to order by phone.
Second thing was we had to genuinely 5x ask to get our drinks what we ordered. My friend get her burger without her cola, then same happened to me and my wife 10min after. Then my wife get her drink but I don't get mine. So again we ask to get my drink and waiters goes and never comes back to us. We came to other girl there and ask where is our drink after more then 10min waiting, and she said "sorry we don't have any more cola" and we were like, okey. Would anyone come and talk to us about that or they thought ignoring us will make me not want to drink something while I eat? And she didn't know what to say or say sorry just said I will see what I can do. Then after 10min she's coming with 0.2dl cola when 0.33 was ordered, everything was paid on app so no one offered us to make something for the difference of me not getting size I ordered and paid. Not even said sorry we don't have bigger one do you want some order soft drink? Just leave it on table and thought I won't see my bottle smaller then rest of them on the table...
Food was definitely over priced and chicken burger is just masive fried chicken pieces that is impossible to eat like a burger. You have to add more ketchup on table just to be able to eat, cuz it's more like a 2 piece of chicken between buns. Really disappointed about it, specially when burger is almost €20!
Pizza was grand but I thought I had salad with pizza bread, from amount of salad put on pizza. Didn't even taste anything else then salad. Again almost €20 for pizza was definitely overpriced..
Nothing today was good to give better score then 2* cuz 5 of us left disappointed and definitely wouldn't come...
Read moreAtmosphere: It was loud, but not too much so. Clean enough and decorated cleverly. I was surprised to see dogs (one roaming free) upstairs when we were walking to the toilets. We loved it, but it was unexpected.
Service: Staff was hard to flag down, and they didn't seem to understand us very easily (seemingly because of the noise) or know the menu that well, but they were nice and friendly enough. We were frustrated that not all the kid meals were on the ordering menu, but the staff (once we found them) were happy to place the order for those portions for us. Our food came out fast and hot.
Food: The buffalo cauliflower wings were tasty and cooked perfectly. The Korean bbq chicken wings were light on flavor, mainly soy sauce, but my son added regular barbecue sauce and felt them much improved. My daughter enjoyed the kids burger, but she could only eat half, as it was on the thick side. (No complaints about that!) My 8-year-old got the kids chicken strips (which the server didn't even know was on the menu), and they were superbly crispy and tasty. My other kid (that's four, if you're counting) got the kids Mac-n-cheese. He liked it well enough, but it did come topped with fried onions like the other portions on the menu, and that was almost a dealbreaker. My husband got the pastrami pizza and very much enjoyed it. He had the poutine the first time he came and enjoyed that as well. We ordered a Mac-n-cheese from the grazing menu to share. It was decent. It didn't have a lot of flavor (the onions helped a lot), but wing kid and burger kid ate a lot of it. Chicken kid didn't like it. The hasselback potatoes were delicious. The portion is five small potatoes, so plan accordingly. The truffle cheese fries were good as fries (but needed salt), but they tasted neither of truffle nor cheese. They were only slightly more interesting than the regular fries.
I can see how the wings (both kinds) could be hit-or-miss if the place is busy, and the Mac-n-cheese isn't amazing, but we enjoyed it and will go back if we're in the area, especially since it's very vegetarian (and...
Read moreI've been to Brewdog twice now and both were completely different experiences! What I can say for sure on both experiences is that the food, taste wise, is great. The portions are huge and its relatively inexpensive for what you get. The 2 sides for €6 is a steel. Both times that I visited however, at least one course was amiss. The first time I visited the staff were absolutely lovely. They were so interactive and fun. We did find ourselves having to call them over constantly to get drinks refills and for the table to be cleared of empty dishes, but that didn't bother us a lot as it was a busy Saturday night. The only issue with food we had was the desserts were all missing aspects that the menu listed. We got the strawberries and cream dessert but both the shortbread and strawberries were missing. Not a huge deal but disappointing. The second time I visited was a different story. The staff this time around were super uptight. We had an American girl serving us, and she had a major attitude problem. Any issue we had she seemed to have her own issue with. We caught her a few times going over to the bar staff and whispering, after which the 3 or 4 other staff members at the bar would turn and look at us. It was an entirely uncomfortable situation. We again had to call her over to clear the table, only this time the restaurant was not majorly busy so I'm unsure what the excuse was for this. The issue with the food the second time around was we were served mushy, frozen onion rings as opposed to their usually fresh ones. I knew they were different as I had them the first time around and was so looking forward to having them again, turns out they had just ran out of fresh ones. Should have been made clear when we ordered them, but we asked another server about this, he was lovely, and he insisted on removing the onion rings from our bill for the inconvenience. All in all, the place is nice if not a bit...
