You could tell the place was popular from the offset. I managed to be 45 minutes late to my original booking and 20 minutes late to my amended one (no excuses, but it was a VERY rough day 🙃).

However, like the popularity, the exemplary service was evident from the very start. The lovely lady I spoke to to reschedule (I believe the general manager?) even suggested I push the amended reservation out to 6:30 and I insisted it would be too late because I had a show at 7:30... then proceeded to arrive even later than 6:30...🙃

Yet despite ALL this, the service was FLAWLESS. I was greeted by name by the lady I'd spoken to over the phone before even introducing myself, quickly seated in a location of my choice and immediately brought the menus. Another lovely waitress then told me her manager had said I was tight on time and suggest I go with some starters and ensured the food would be with me ASAP.

Not one lie was told! The food was to my table no more than 10 minutes after I'd ordered and it was scrummy! The aioli was the stuff of dreams for garlic-lovers; thick, creamy, and so loaded with garlic is was almost spicy. Could have bathed in it (but then I REALLY would have been late for my show!).

Every detail was taken care of and every member of staff I spoke to was so genuinely warm. It sounds silly, but after a day (week) from hell, it was beyond touching. I very nearly cried into my chips!

So thank you Charlotte Quay for the amazing experience! Thanks to you all I got to my show with plenty of time to spare! Between the delicious food, perfect atmosphere and 6-star service, this has not only become my favourite restaurant in Dublin, but one of my standout experiences of all time.

Goes without saying, but...

We booked for 6 people yesterday for pre-theatre dinner. We did not want to rush so booked for 5.30 p.m., aiming to be out at 7.00 p.m. We opted for Pre-theatre menu. It seemed like good value - €27 for 2 courses. However, you needed to order sides with some of the dishes. 2 people in our group decided to forego starters and have dessert. Bad choice! The service was so slow - and the restaurant wasn't busy. We had to try to catch the server's attention each time we needed something. Our empty main course dishes sat for ages before being cleared. We were not offered dessert and it was too late by that stage to order it. Worse was to come however. When we got the bill it was difficult to understand how it had been calculated so I asked the waitress to explain it. She was surly - I explained that 2 of us had not had time to order dessert. She said that we had therefore been charged the full a la carte price for those main courses. I said I didn't think that was right - she then very rudely and sarcastically told me that she could add on an extra €3 euro each to make up the pre-theatre cost since I seemed to be insisting that this is what we had wanted! Or I could pay the a la carte price - it was up to me! Unbelievable - since it was their lack of efficient service that had caused this in the first place. We'd had some cocktails, beer and wine - the bill was not inconsiderable and yet this was their attitude. She left 6 people with their mouths hanging open in shock at her rudeness! Do they actually want customers or not? They act as if they hate everybody! Thankfully the company we were in was great so we didn't let it spoil our night. But none of us will...

A wonderful restaurant experience and the food is out of this world.

Would HIGHLY recommend the chorizo croquettes for starters and the seabream for mains. The croquettes are huge and you get 3 of them. Golden and crispy on the outside with a smooth potato mix in the inside. The chorizo cubes added in gave it a wonderful texture and flavour and with a plentiful serving of cheese shavings on top and a bed of salad this starter is perfectly balanced.

The seabream comes served in a deep dish. It had a really crispy skin too, which I absolutely loved. Served on top of new potatoes and fresh pak choi it's such a light, but filling, dish. Underneath the veg is a buttery/lemon sauce and plenty of caviar (fish roe), which adds a lovely pop of saltiness to the dish, it's truly a delight to experience such flavours.

I was too full to have dessert but the table next to us did and they looked amazing.

The staff were absolutely fantastic. So attentive, friendly and seem genuinely happy in their jobs.

I cannot WAIT to return

Drinks menu 10/10 Non alcoholic Erdinger 10/10 Food 1000/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Location 10/10 Staff 10/10

P.s I didn't want to be rude and take photos as no one else has their phones out but I definitely will next time.

The reservation was under Brady, for 5pm 23/08/2025 but we were delayed by the crash so...

This place offers gorgeous view of the quay with its unique surrounding buildings such as the Marker Hotel and Bord Gais Energy Theatre. I was here with my workmates for a pre-theatre dinner. They were so nice to accept our booking for such a large group of 35 pax. Kudos to the team, they managed it very efficiently and they have friendly and well trained staff. We started our 3-course pre-theatre dinner at 5:00pm, and we were at the Bord Gais Theatre by 7:15pm (the show starts at 7.30pm). I had Fried squid for starter - slices of tasty calamari-like squids with something really nice in the middle that tastes like pickled mushroom, good portion. Hake for main (broiled). If you you are used to eating big portion, do not order this as this is very small serving, however, just right for me, especially I had 3-course dinner. My dessert was Tiramisu. This was massive, i only had about 5 tablespoons of it. Taste like typical tiramisu. I'd say the food and service were really worth for its price of 38 euros. Overall, I enjoyed my dine in experience here.

The food / value for money is the problem here. If you are going to charge 18 euros for crab in a brioche bun - which is a very weird starter, I have to be honest - then it better pack a flavour punch. Instead, it's just very basic. Given how fast the starters came out, it seems not much needs to be done to prepare them anyway - which always rings alarm bells. The main course of seabream looks good, but that's the problem - it just looks good. It's one of those classic cases where all the effort is made into making the plate look presentable rather than make the food very, very tasty. And again, if you're going to charge 32 euros for a relatively small plate of food, then the flavours should be singing off the plate. Is it awful? No, but it's overpriced and very ordinary. You won't be left impressed. In other words, you're not getting value for money. Staff, however, were great throughout the entire service and were really attentive and efficient. Would I come back? Probably not.
