Such a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous! Great cozy atmosphere inside, and lovely service! I'm attaching pics of the dishes - Roast Topside Beef, which was a 'roast of the day' (not in the regular menu), it had two large, thick and tender pieces of beef, together with mash, and it came together with a side dish of potatoes and veg; And the other dish was Linguini with added chicken pieces which were juicy and tasty.

Here's a more informal way to put that: The beer garden's pretty sweet, and it's mostly families and folks over 40 hanging out. It's always packed, which is cool! But man, the service has really gone downhill lately. My beer was warm, and good luck trying to find a waitress to take your order at the table. It's a real bummer, especially since this place isn't exactly cheap. A bit frustrating...

Booked a room for a funeral and was charged 1300 for soup and sandwiches with ‘complimentary’ tea and coffee for 100 people, absolute rip off prices for what was offered. At one point someone asked for soup and was told there was none left but there wasn’t even 100 people there, absolutely disgraceful avoid at all costs much cheaper nicer options for food for a function else where

Utterly OUTRAGEOUS that the plans for the upgrading of the city’s transport infrastructure requires the historic place to BE DEMOLISHED to facilitate tunnelling! (Along with some homes at Hart’s Corner and a NUMBER of beautiful trees on Mobhi Road)...and interesting the the City Council reviewed their plans to interfere with Na Fianna CLG Gaelic and Hurling pitches (very central to sport and culture in the area, so this change can be understood!). Hedigan’s/The Brian Boru is listed and referred to in a number of works of Irish literature, not least of which would be James Joyce’s Ulysses. The proprietors, the Hedigan family, do not seem to be resisting and I have seen no local protests; it is assumed that the final financial settlement (as a result of the compulsory purchase of this site) will more than adequately compensate them (but one has to wonder if they would have settled for the clichéd ‘30 Pieces of Silver’, and if the final contract will be sealed, not with ink on paper, but instead with a “Judas kiss”); it seems sad that nobody (including the State, those charged with maintaining access to the vital thread of living history, the City, the various Joycean authorities, etc who might have the means and resources available to them with which to save this building), didn’t see fit to remind the Hedigan family, that yes they were the proprietors of this public house, but essentially they were curators of a small part of Dublin history....a responsibility NOT to be cast aside and the first sign of a financial reward....SURELY THEY MADE ENOUGH MONEY OVER THE GENERATIONS ? Apparently not! Aside from plying one of the few still readily available addictive substances (alcohol)...(probably one should balk, for the moment, at imagining the numbers of lives affected by that!)...do they have no responsibilities to the locality or the City? Hedigan’s could have and SHOULD have resisted this move (going concern, cultural/social contributions, listed building....even if they WISH to get out of the business and this presented just such an opportunity....other options were available ) but the prospect of a nice easy financial exit EVEN if it means the pub would cease to exist...was simply too attractive....

To be honest I wasn't too impressed. We went for a meal. 5 in the party, midweek. We booked it just in case but their was no need. The young lady who greeted us said we could sit anywhere because the table they reserved us was right beside the front door and their was better tables. We picked one and she said that it was free but it was a very cold part of the pub. We decided to go out to the back of the the pub. This was no better, a really bad draught behind us. I keep my coat on all night as it was cold and no heating on. I ordered the fish and chips €18.50. The chips were ok but the fish was terrible. I got a tiny piece of fish covered in loads and loads of batter. The batter was well over done and very chewy. I don't normally give bad reviews like this but for €18.50 I would expect better standard to be honest. Before the owners start to give the chef some heat over this review they should try and give some heat to the customers. We left early because of the freezing room we sat in. I will go back for a second chance as I don't believe the standard on the night was typical of their service. The staff who served us were really friendly...

Well today was a sad day as we buried our nanny and we went back to your pub for the afters I could not fault the food as it was lovely and staff was friendly until the end at 7 o'clock we were told that kids had to be of the premises for 8 o clock most of us live in drogheda and we organise a min bus to be here to collect us and take us home because we had kids with us. Eight of clock came and our mini bus came but other people who were with us with no kids were refused to be served we could not belive it we spent a large amount of money beyween everybody trough out the day. All the kids left the premises as mater of fact it was only my two uncle and two antys who was going to be left and your staff refuse to serve them which we found a disgrace and was very hurt and found your staff very rude and when ask could we speak to the manger she came out and said everybody had enough that she was not serving anybody even tough I explain to her that the kids were going and our mini bus was outside. We are so hurt to be treated that way after all the money we spent and will neaver ever return to...
