I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thindi Restaurant, a delightful establishment that specializes in Indian cuisine. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The overall experience, from the delectable food to the exceptional service, left a lasting impression on me.
Let's start with the star of the show—the food. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, and I must say, every bite was a burst of flavor. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of garlic to add that extra kick. The garlic chilli chicken was a delightful combination of tender chicken and a spicy, tangy sauce that left me craving for more. The Madras Chicken curry was rich, aromatic, and had just the right balance of spices. Each dish was prepared with precision, showcasing the skill and expertise of the chefs at Thindi Restaurant.
For dessert, I indulged in the heavenly gulab jamun, which was soft, moist, and soaked in a sweet syrup. It was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. To complement the flavors, I also had the pleasure of sipping on a refreshing mango lassi, which was smooth, creamy, and had just the right amount of sweetness.
Not only was the food outstanding, but the service at Thindi Restaurant was also top-notch. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. They took the time to interact with us, providing recommendations and making us feel right at home. The warm and welcoming atmosphere added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening.
In summary, Thindi Restaurant is a gem for Indian cuisine lovers. The food is exceptional, with each dish prepared to perfection and bursting with flavors. The garlic naan, garlic chilli chicken, and Madras Chicken curry were particularly outstanding. The gulab jamun and mango lassi provided a delightful ending to the meal. Moreover, the attentive and friendly service made us feel like valued guests.
I highly recommend Thindi Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable Indian dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or curious to explore its flavors, Thindi Restaurant will undoubtedly satisfy...
Read more14/12/24 We placed an order just before 6pm, ordered a full vegan meal for 2 and delivery said it would be at our home in Finglas by 6:30. 6:40 arrived and we rang to see where our order was. The man on the phone said sorry about the delay but it’s not yet left the building but will be with us soon. We were shocked but said it’s ok. We rang back again at 7:00 and the man said the order has just left with the driver. We were growing a bit impatient but said alright it should be with us within 10-20 minutes. 7:30 arrives and we ring again and we can’t get ahold of anyone until 7:45. The man on the phone says sorry and that our order will be with us within another 10 minutes. At this point we were really agitated and starving!! I asked if I could speak to the manager and the man said he’d be in within 30 minutes so I said I’d ring back then. Our food does not come in 10 minutes like the man says but in 20!!! Our food arrives by 8:10 and the driver says there’s nothing he can do, the employees do not listen to him and that there is not many drivers!!! This should be put on your website instead of the food should be with you within 30 minutes. It should say delivery takes MORE THAN 2 HOURS. no one would be ok with that!! I definitely wouldn’t have ordered it I knew that. Some of our food was lukewarm and other bits was straight up cold. We had to microwave our meal. I called back when the manager was meant to be in and he still wasn’t there. I asked them to have him call me and I’ve not yet been contacted at all. I think the least they can do is refund for this order. It was a dreadful experience and it’s a shame as I’ve ordered from this restaurant before and had delightful experiences. Not anymore - you’ve lost a customer unless you can...
Read moreA solid honest review for those who care.
I’m an avid foodie with a real passion for curry, so I had high hopes when ordering here. Unfortunately, I came away a little disappointed overall, especially after reading some of the glowing reviews beforehand.
I ordered a lamb madras with pilau rice, garlic naan, and poppadoms through one of the usual delivery apps. Delivery was impressively quick at just 25 minutes, and the packaging was neat, fully recyclable—credit where it’s due.
The food itself:
Rice: Nicely aromatic, bright yellow, with the expected cardamom pods. Sadly, it was overcooked and bordering on mushy—not something I can put down to delivery time.
Curry: Great colour and texture, smooth on the palate. But it really missed the mark as a madras. It lacked the trademark heat and depth of flavour, tasting more like a mild curry with little complexity.
Lamb: Very fresh, tender, and cooked perfectly—but it wasn’t marinated, so it felt like plain lamb dropped into the sauce.
Garlic naan: Dry, lacking in garlic, and left an odd aftertaste. Not a highlight.
Poppadoms: Exactly as they should be—crisp and crunchy.
Overall impression: Fresh ingredients, yes, but authenticity was missing. At €35 (medium-to-high price range, though typical for Dublin), I’d expect a madras that lives up to its name. Instead, this felt more like a generic mild curry with good lamb thrown in.
I’ll give this place a fair 3 out of 5 stars. It’s fine if you want something fresh and filling, but if you’re looking for authentic spice and flavour true to the menu, you might want to look elsewhere.
Thanks to the outlet for an overall decent experience, and good luck...
