Hong Kee — Restaurant in Dublin

I don't normally leave reviews like this but tonight was just ridiculous, ordered food at 8:20pm and received an email stating it would be 56 mins.

1h 20mins after ordering I had to ring up as it hadn't arrived yet and was told the driver had left and was on his way, rang again 30 mins after the first phone call and was told the driver would be another 5 mins, food arrived stone cold and inedible almost an hour after it was supposed to at 10:12pm.

What should have been a hassle free order turned into a nightmare, this isn't the first time I ordered from here where it was late, but it has never turned up freezing cold and inedible, driver most likely left when restaurant said they did but then preceded to drive around for 40 or 50 mins with my food in his car, which should have been maximum a 15 minute drive.

I think Hong Kee warrants a higher rating than 3.5 on Google, as some dishes are quite impressive. The duck is always flawlessly cooked; it has never been burnt or overly tough. The cheese rolls are a treat as well; the cheese used is creamy and scrumptious, though its type remains a mystery to me. On the downside, the salt and chili chicken tends to be overly crunchy and fragile, while the noodles are excessively thick and have an earthy taste. Tofu Spice bag experience like no other. One evening while on my way home after a few libations, I found myself walking through the hexagonal entrance of Hon Kee. I ordered a tofu spice bag and a side of curry sauce. I sat in the lush green eatery and waited for my order. It came with a free fizzy drink of my choice and the woman at the til persuaded me to take a plastic so as not to spill my curry sauce, and I was glad she did, the sauce was soo good I wouldn't have wished to spill any of it. 10/10...
