Overhyped or inconsistent? I wanted to start by saying I work in the industry and I’m leaving this as a constructive review, I dined in on a Wednesday, early and I walked in without a booking. I had seen loads about this restaurant and made the trek to try it for myself. Small plates: We ordered mozzarella sticks , cacio de pepe arancini and garlic focaccia. The focaccia is seemingly baked in house, and claims to be sourdough. If this is true I would increase the sour added for more flavour and give it less of a bake. This is obviously reheated/ toasted to order and it was so hard and overly crunchy like a hard crouton. The mozzarella sticks were fine, lacking any seasoning or flavour, the sauce on the side was good, but the minute I picked up the last one off the plate a server grabbed it and walked away so no dipping for me! The arancini was grand, nothing outstanding needed salt.

I want to talk about the service but note that none of the staff were in any way rude or unpleasant. I would guess that they’re lacking training and being told to move the tables as fast as possible. While my table shared small plates and ate we used the side plates, any time the last forkful was taken off a plate within 10 seconds it was grabbed and taken, this seems insane to me considering the concept is sharing and dipping ect. It was too much having everything almost stolen from the table before we could finish. The food came quick and I can’t fault that. Side note some candles would be nice on the table. Lastly the pizza itself. We ordered a margarita and a pepperoni pizza. I think it was lacklustre. It felt over baked in my opinion with a lot of black char on the base giving it a burnt taste. The sauce was under seasoned and the cheese was flavourless. The margarita was maybe drizzled with oil before serving and it was EXTREMELY oily. I like olive oil this was just an insanely greasy amount. The ration of cheese on the pizzas was also so inconsistent. The margarita had an unpleasant amount whereas the pepperoni felt like it had none. Maybe a standardised amount would be helpful The menu has shoutouts to using mcnallys farm as a supplier and they sell Gaza coke, I’d love to see some of that passion put into the flavours and recipe development. I added pictures so that you can see how dry the focaccia is and gives you an idea of how burnt the base of...

Very strange experience here to be honest.

We ordered two pizzas. It wasn't busy and we got them quite quickly, within about 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes later, we had eaten almost half of a pizza each, with plenty left. By that stage, we had been sitting no more than 30 minutes. A staff member came over to us and asked "Are you still eating?" We were only there 30 mins maximum, and had more than half of our pizzas left to eat, so we felt it was a strange question to ask. We were approached a couple of times. It felt like we were being watched and we felt a bit of pressure to move off. Having said that, the staff were all very friendly. We got the impression that it's probably management who want people to eat quickly and move out quickly. The staff themselves were lovely and we didn't have any issues in that regard, so I don't feel that it was a reflection on the staff members themselves but rather on how this place is managed. We had googled Reggie's website before we came, and it said you have 90 minutes at your table so we felt it was unnecessary to approach us after just 30 minutes, especially since we were only sitting at the bar and not even a table. It was a Wednesday evening too, not busy. So that was strange.

We had tried to book a table two weeks beforehand and again one week before, but there doesn't seem to be any booking availability between 5pm and 8pm. We tried for a few weeks now, but could only see tables for 16:15 or 19:45. For that reason, we went as walk-ins without a reservation (2 people), for around 6pm. The place was 75% empty but they sat us at the bar. They asked if that was ok, and we said yes. It wasn't a problem, but I'm just curious as to why we didn't get offered a table for two since there seemed to be plenty of space for the duration of our visit. We spent about an hour and a half there in total, and even by the time we were leaving the place was still 50% empty with many tables available.

The pizza was nice, but the experience as a whole...

Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience today for our girl's lunch. Our server (male with glasses) came to tell us within ten minutes of arriving that we had to order our food as soon as possible as we only had our table for an hour and a half. His tone was very abrupt and rude and when he said our booking was for a particular time, which was actually 15 minutes earlier than what it was actually booked for, I corrected him on it and he argued back saying I was wrong and reiterated the wrong time and only when I said I had the email to prove it, he backed down. He still continued saying well you only have the table for an hour and a half and we needed to order food as soon as possible. The restaurant was not busy at all at this time so it was very odd and really confusing. It really put a bad taste in our mouths and for the rest of our meal we felt uncomfortable and felt we were being rushed out. He came back and eventually apologised but honestly the damage was already done. The food was nice but I found my appetite was gone after this run in with the waiter it was difficult to really enjoy anything. I had the meatballs and then a pizza. Very disappointed as I had been looking forward to trying out Reggie's from the minute I heard it was opening. Six of us were put in a booth and it was quite squashed also we felt, so would recommend a table for a group rather than a booth. They also don't serve coffee which was a bit odd but the waiter did say they were planning to, it just wasn't up and running yet. I do want to mention that there was a female server towards the end of our meal who was very kind and helpful and it's a shame we didn't have...

A really nice venue with a great atmosphere. It had something for everyone—families, younger folks, couples on dates—and the staff were incredibly friendly and the choice of music was solid, which definitely enhanced the experience. The starters, or 'small plates,' were the highlight of the meal. My Nduja and honey pizza was delicious, but my partner's pizza with pineapple, crispy bacon (which wasn’t crispy), and jalapenos felt fairly generic. We were a bit underwhelmed by the pizzas overall. The mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce were probably the best I’ve ever had, and the Cacio e Pepe Arancini were phenomenal. The custard served alongside the arancini was the perfect pairing. The Ricotta meatballs were tasty, but the sourdough focaccia that came with the dish didn’t live up to expectations. To finish, the ice cream sundae was a lovely way to end the meal. It was the perfect complement after a hearty pizza. I’d definitely recommend it if you’ve had a big pizza to yourself. One small downside: the dips for the pizza were a bit on the scabby side. While they tasted great, I felt they could have been a bit more generous in portion size.

I was super excited to try Reggie’s Pizza, and maybe my expectations were too high. The cacio & pepe arancini was just perfect, but the pizza was just okay. I’m not saying it’s not worth it or anything like that, but it’s just a normal/good pizza, sadly it’s not a special taste or one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m sure it’s a great option if you’re nearby or having a pint in one of the great pubs around, but if you’re taking a 40-minute bus just for the pizza, maybe you should reconsider it. Service was excellent – the pizzaiolos and all the staff were super friendly, nothing to complain about there. The bathroom, though, was quite dirty. That said, I’d go back to try a different flavour if I’m around the area.
