We went for valentines day, 4 course set menu with 4 cocktails, and an introductory drink. First drink came fast. By 1 hour, we had 1 course, and 1 drink. I was very angry at this point. A manager came, apologised, and said the additional round of drinks we ordered was free - this got me back to relatively calm, and we were told our remaining drinks and food would now come quickly.
By hour 2, we had only had 2 courses, and had to ask for the matching second drink. I think we were charting towards 3 hours when we finished. We had to ask for our dessert, we had to ask for the final 2 drinks that hadn't come.
Easily the most frustrating and worst dining experience I ever had.
The food was nice tasting, but very small servings, watery and weak cocktails, terrible value for money at €65, and that's even acknowledging the typical rip off culture on valentines.
The staff were very pleasant but extremely harried and overworked, seemed they had a fraction of the staff they needed for the number of people looking to eat there.
Personally, I will...
Read moreAs we sat down the server handed us the drinks menu and said they could also do any classic cocktail. I looked at the bar to see if they had the ingredients for my favorite classic cocktail and they did when I asked the server if they could make it she said they didn’t have the ingredients. I said I could see the ingredients on the bar and she said the bartender didn’t know how to make it (fair, impossible to know every cocktail) I then suggested to let them know how (simple equal part recipe) or suggested they could google it, she said since they didn’t have a button for it they couldn’t make it ….??? This place clames to be a cocktail bar and they can’t make a simple classic cocktail? She was also very rude about it and I don’t appreciate her lying saying she didn’t have the ingredients when I could clearly see them there.
Needless to say I’ve order this drink in Laylas upstairs
Other than than I really like the food in this place
Shame they’re so rude and do go above and beyond for client...
Read moreA NYC style bar at ground floor of the Devlin hotel, competing with Stella cinema in the basement and Layla's Restaurant on the rooftop. Not an easy job, this place does the trick though. Really nice vibe, for business or casual with friends or a date. There's a lot of light throughout the space, so especially pleasant for brunch. The Jazz band was a nice touch. The brunch menu was good value for money offering a tapas plate, one side plate and two cocktails for €35. However, it's still a hotel bar, so don't expect a gourmet experience when it comes to food. The only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 is slow service. I know it's hard to find staff these days and the girls don't speak English very well but we waited exceptionally long for simple orders such as tea, a cocktail or one tapas plate... several times during our visit and the place was empty, as you can see from...
