I’ve been to many a Romayo’s joints and this had to be the worst experience I’ve ever had at any.
Myself and a friend went to the Romayo’s in Clonsilla expecting the same service as any other Romayo’s, our regular being the one in Sandyford Hall which puts out a great service and food. To say that the branch in Clonsilla was a huge letdown would be an understatement.
Firstly, the staff were rude and didn’t have proper etiquette or manners when it came to customer service. For example, dropping change on the worktop instead of handing it to me like a normal human being would. The lady behind the counter had a disinterested approach to the whole order taking process which added to the grief.
Secondly, the food we ordered was absolute muck. We ordered a mixed kebab tray, the exact order we make in the Sandyford branch so we didn’t stray from it hoping it’d be the same here too. Surprisingly, the food was cold and unbearable. The grated cheese on top was not melted, the chicken pieces were cold and the kebab pieces were soggy. The chips were hard and cold so it was evident that the food was not cooked. After paying a tenner for a kebab tray with extra meat I had to throw it out because it was distasteful and disgusting to say the least.
I hope the managers of this joint see the review and up their service level when it comes to offering food to loyal Romayo’s customers because it does put a bit of doubt in customer’s minds about going back and paying money to the...
Read moreI remember when this place was Macari's and when it was renamed Romayo's.
It has changed massively over the years. Food tends to be hit & miss depending on the day.
Busy on weekends especially when the local pub closes but otherwise usually quiet.
Chips were okay on this visit but again one of the more expensive items on the menu. Who remembers when chips were 50p and a snack box was £2.00?(I know economic changes are responsible for the rise)
The chicken was okay too but when you need it, it's handy to get to. Plenty of parking outside if you're driving.
Price wise it's on par with the likes of McDonald's but the quality is better. A 3 piece chicken meal is €9.99 and is usually freshly cooked while you wait. You can also alter the 3 pieces you get on the in-store kiosk or website & app ordering which also has a loyalty scheme.
My other half said the sausages in his meal tasted okay too.
Staff here are curt with their responses and have been much better in the past. If I'm saying please and thank you, then I expect the same level courtesy in return and not just having my change thrown at me and having "next!" called out in my face.
If customers weren't coming in, where would the business be without them. A little respect both ways goes a long way.
Overall it was an okay experience. I've never used the diner part of the takeaway but my nephew raves about it and always gets his nan to take him there...
Read moreOrdered last night and waited just under two hours for our food to be delivered. Called the shop three times, was put on to a manager eventually who told me that 'it's so busy' which is nones fault as of the Christmas period more staff should be hired for the busy seasonal work, after an hour and a half of waiting we called again very frustrated and the manager told us our food hadn't even been sent out yet and it was still in the store. She offered very poor customer service offering no discounts on our order. The delivery man got to our door after a two hour wait we refused to pay calling the manager again she said she would only give 50% at this point our food was bearly warm and we no longer wanted it. We received appalling customer service from the manager of the store. We always chose ramayos over other chippers but we will now be taking...
