Just wrote a lengthy review about my recent experience for lunch here but it didn’t save! To summarize, the team here at CHDR, Catherine, Edijs and Florin, are amazing and all contribute equally to create a one of a kind, exceptional dining experience that you simply must go and experience for yourself. The refreshingly different lunch menu leaves you spoiled for choice and I can hardly wait to visit for dinner and try everything they have on offer. Catherine always greets you with a smile and attends to your every need. Edijs is a wizard when it comes to concocting delicious drinks to suit your preferences. He’s the man for wine recommendations too and has never recommended anything I haven’t wanted to drink entire bottles of. Florin cooks everything to perfection and never fails to present his creations beautifully, which really elevates your dining experience to another level and sets it a part from many others I’ve had locally.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit for either lunch or dinner and can’t wait myself to...

It's very brave for the team to serve octopus on the menu in a town like Clonmel, but if you like fish, I really urge you to give it a try. The Grilled Octopus Bao was so delicious I would have ordered a second serving if only it was not so against convention to have a second plate of the starter. Darren got the Bouillabaisse and was blown away. You never thought one could bring chowder ingredients to the next level, but this one definitely did. The Flaming Ribeye Steak was fantastic.
And just when you thought that maybe the dessert will be anticlimactic as in most places when the food is so good, to our surprise the Baked Alaska that I had and Darren's Crème were just absolutely divine.
I highly recommend Central House to anyone who's looking for a good meal around...
Read moreThere aren’t many things we enjoy more than great food, tasty drinks and warm hospitality, and you won’t find a nicer place than Central House to take a break from your week or treat yourself for a nice night out in Clonmel.
This was our first time joining them for lunch but it we’re already looking forward to going back.
The burger was excellent. Juicy and flavorful with way more going on than an average burger. Eddie had a few interesting beer options to recommend, and I ended up going with a local IPA. Great choice.
The short rib was just as good and was cooked to perfection, fell right off the bone and paired up great with the wine Eddie recommended.
If we’d had more time we would have stayed for coffee or gotten desert. Next time for sure.
We felt very looked-after by Catherine and left full, satisfied and relaxed by this lovely break in our day. We couldn’t have...
