The Cross — Restaurant in The Borough District of Drogheda

I used to love this place for drinks and food before lockdown but the recent service has really put me off. Last night I ordered food for delivery. I was told on the phone that because they were so busy, it could take up to 45 minutes for my order to arrive. That’s reasonable. After an hour had past with no delivery I was concerned but let it slide. After an hour and a half had passed I decided I’d ring the restaurant to see what the story was. Maybe they just got more busy. After trying to ring over 15 times and constantly being sent to voicemail I was getting fed up. 2 hours after ordering, my doorbell rings. It was the food. I told the driver that we’d been waiting just over 2 hours when we’d be told 45 minutes max. I received no apology or anything. I was simply met with a “yeah, well we’re busy”. I would be more understanding if the restaurant themselves were understanding about how bad that customer service was. We didn’t accept the food in the end as after the 15th time trying to call the restaurant we just ordered from somewhere else. I can understand busy but you can’t ghost your customers for 2 hours and expect everything...

not nice staff, would not recommend.. Particularly the female staff that was working on the night of 21/05/22, told us initially to 'finish up drinks' and literally 5 minutes after, 'finish up your drinks, you guys are only ones here' (and actually we were not only ones there). After that, a male staff came around, twice actually, asking us to finish up our drinks in a very pushy way, and it felt quiet rude and unwelcoming. It is not like we were taking a very long time to finish our drinks, we were actually trying our absolute best to wrap up, just like any other curstomers would. However the staff were very rude, to try get us out of the pub, which we did not appreaciate, especially that we were coming all the way from county Kildare. We will not be coming back to this pub again, very...

Sitting at the front bar. The barman ginger (20 ISH), short hair tonight Fri 29th Dec 2023. Spills a full mixer of double Vodka and red bull over the bar on top my lap. Subsequently water damage to my phone. No apology from the staff. Called him back over, asked him for my bill of 2 beers to be replaced in lieu of dry cleaning, ( not knowing my phone is now broken )was told to bill him, laughing. We left being disrespected... After 20 years of going to Cruizo's and Fusion and friends with Colin Mc Guinness. Place is gone to dogs... Children behind the bar, with 0 manners. Sign of the times....
