Food and good staff where amazing and the food was top class ' nice succlent chicken. Small menu but food available was brilliant astmosphere good and cocktails. Unfortunatly not a 5 star due to 2 major reasons the first one being the fact they do not take Card or phone tap at the bar in this day and age which is the most stupid thing i have ever seen or heard of. 1 atm in the bar to facilitate over 400 people an absolute joke . With big lines waiting at the Atm and more lines at the bar for bar staff getting change. Bar staff serving drinks where rude didnt engage with anyone barely even smiling at people and just the over all stupidity of not having the ability to tap at least 15 people at the bar only had their phones and not their cards absoulte joke so the staff where slower getting change and people where waiting ages to get cash out to go back to the bar all night i wont be going back until they fix this stupid issue

Today I attended the Rum House in Dundalk, Ireland. I am not lying when I say that the cheesy garlic bread was the best garlic bread I have ever tasted. I ordered the Bolognese with Cheesy Garlic Bread. As I have already mentioned the cheesy garlic bread is the best I have ever tasted and the Bolognese was delicious. Although I would not order the Bolognese if you are not that hungry as it is a very big portion with lots of meat, apart from that very delicious. 5 Stars -James Lee, Google Maps Local Guide

Left after an hour. Packed full so we had to stand in the freezing rain in the smoking area. No card payments allowed which sounds very dodgy. Remixed outdated music is far too loud it actually gave me a headache and you can't hear eachother unless you shout in eachother's ear. No room to move at all in the place. The only good thing was the lovely guy at the bar (When we got to it!) and the friendly door staff.

I was refused entrance because I arrived after doors was closed, but my husband was inside having staff party. And came to collect him and may be to have a drink. I couldnt get earler as I was working that night very hard. I was wearing evening dress with jacket and wasnt not drunk as I worked that night. There were people allowed to let in while I was waiting outside. Despite local businessmans, with whom my husband had a staff party, were asking to let me in, bouncer kept refusing to let me in. I wasnt there been at least 10 years and wont be back for rest of my life. It is very disrespectfull attitude to people. I read reviews and saw that this happens on regular basis. I wouldnt recommend people to go there and ruining their night with such a bad attitude. If Rum House dont need our money, no problem. Husband said that bar was empty. Just interesting how they run the business, when treating respectable...

I was refused entry for not being a local two nights in a row. For a Welsh person visiting the area It was my first time in Dundalk and thought I would give this bar a try, big mistake…every other bar and pub the staff and door men were amazing and welcoming but these so called bouncers who I can only describe as uneducated meat heads, give no valid reason for entry for me and my three mates other than ‘not tonite’. They obviously are very proud to be bouncers of an absolute dive that wasn’t even busy so hats off to you boys for refusing business to a failing establishment, horrendous attitudes and that’s being kind.

So if your not from the area stay well clear of this place..!!!

Vinegar man is a much better place...
