We stopped into The Gate Restaurant in Navan as a family of four and were absolutely delighted with the experience. From start to finish, everything was spot on. We had two fresh scones to start, warm, buttery and just the right amount of crumbly. The full Irish breakfast was perfectly cooked and piping hot, the club sandwich was packed with flavour, and the fish and chips were fresh and flaky with a lovely crispy batter.

The service was brilliant, friendly, quick and welcoming and the menu had loads of great options for everyone, which is no small thing when you're feeding a family! Plenty of choice, whether you're after a light bite or something more hearty. Coffee was also very good, rich, smooth and served nice and hot.

The Gate is hands down my go-to spot whenever I’m in Navan. It’s the only place I trust for proper, freshly made food that hits the spot every time. The homemade soups are absolutely delicious, full of flavour and clearly made from scratch. I had the chicken Caesar salad on my last visit and it was perfect: crisp lettuce, juicy chicken, and the dressing was just right. Their wraps are always fresh and generously filled, you can really taste the quality.

Awful experience from start to finish. Firstly the service was shocking, the woman was so so rude and couldn’t even crack a smile. we ordered scones when they arrived they were so dry and not fresh at all. To make it worse the order was wrong. Then the açai bowel came out and it was pure water and made me sick.
