UNioN Wine Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Waterford

Updated: from 3 to 5 stars. Returned to try this wine bar once more and was delighted to see such a wonderful selection of house wines to choose from - really lovely ones, across a range of prices. Food was delicious, we ordered some pasta dishes. Staff were very friendly. Definitely a little gem in Waterford. Recommend a visit - also a very cosy spot with a great atmosphere.

Our server was very attentive but had no knowledge of wine or the wine menu which was disappointing considering this is a wine bar. The manager was very knowledgeable but there is only so much time that can be given per table when busy. The food was lovely and tasty. I will say, the wine list was very expensive with the cheapest bottle of Italian red priced at about €48 and none typically sold by the glass. I think it speaks volumes that I could not find the wine list online beforehand to be honest... if the wine list offered more choice by the glass and more variety per bottle for different price ranges I think my overall impression would be different. Just the crazy prices left me...

Dinned in Union on Saturday on their first sitting. As we walked in we were greeted with such a warm welcoming interior, very New York old world.... Also greeted by a young vibrate Team.... 1st table offered didn't like so saw one and no problem moving to it... Our evening was a treat so no price watching..... Snacks ie baby appetisers amaze.... Great flavours...... Starter a step up in flavours..... Mains.....another step up in flavours.... Wine list is an education from affordable to that one for a special occasion...... This restaurant is open 8months the proprietor is very knowledgeable on her wines and enthusiastic......... I was very impressed with the food that I sent complements to the kitchen I don't often do that.... I'd love to know about the menu who designed it .....where were the Chefs before union a bio on the owner and the lead staff members would be an insight... The floor staff wer so respectful, pleasant and very approachable, it's a while since I experienced that level of service...... A happy team is a happy...

Went for dinner here with my mother this weekend. We only ended up going because we had a reservation in another restaurant that wasn't honoured. I am so glad that that happened because this was the best meal I have had in a very long time.

The food was insane!

It's a little pricey so I definitely wouldn't be able to eat here on a regular basis, but I would forgo the usual meals out to go here instead.

We had goats cheese and duck to start, beef and venison for mains and we shared a chocolate pave for dessert. The menu may not be to everyone's taste but it was without question to mine.

Service was exceptional. I can't think how many places I've eaten where you need something and you're sitting there trying to get someone's attention when they are purposely not making eye contact ... Not the case here. Our server was incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu.

I very literally don't be have a bad thing to say.
