Papagaio — Restaurant in Herzliya

Shalom, tonight (Thursday Sept 28, 2023 I came all the way from Jerusalem with a few adult grandchildren to enjoy a meal in herzlia, papagayo. Most horrible experience ever, we ordered at 18.30 o’clock. Within 40 min I asked 3 waiters What happened with our order. Noticed that quite a lot of people who came after us almost finished their meal already. The fourth time I spoke to one of the waiters, I mentioned that if the food doesn’t come within 10 min we are leaving. And suddenly we got our order. The entree was served on time (1 person only). All together we waited exactly 50 min. When the bill came the waiter was very surprised I didn’t want to tip. I explained why. Heard Lots of excuses, and when I said, if you are a client you can’t be bothered what happens behind the scenes. You want to be served, especially after 50 min waiting. He agreed. The all you can eat is basically a scam. We paid 329 NIS for 2 people. The price was supposed to include all you can eat from the various meats, some drinks and desserts. They brought out samples of the 8 types of meats first. Some of them were good. But after the samples they basically just ignored us. We kept asking for specific meats, and each time they would write down our request and say that they would bring it out shortly. We waited for close to an hour (!!!) before giving up. Also despite the fact that we asked for the desserts which were included in the price they never brought them. All in all it was a very bad experience, I don't plan on ever returning there and will not recommend this place to others. The renovation is ongoing, with visible results; expanded menu The Papagaio branch at the Marina in Herzliya has been in renovation for quite a while, but it is now open. The sitting area is nicer and the atmosphere is younger, thanks to the new management. More improvements can be expected in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the traditional grill menu is still available, with generous sharing menus at attractive prices, and the endless Brazilian menu is there too.
