Great music, cold beer, and the food…oh, the food! They make everything themselves, including the desserts—which is rare these days. And the cheesecake in the photo? It didn’t upset my stomach, which is also rare these days. I usually try to avoid desserts that aren’t homemade. The tastiest shrimp in the country, the famous Boyikos did not disappoint: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Every bite was a delight! We sat inside, but on a warm summer night in the Feingold Courtyard, Barood’s tables were full—even though the city around was empty because of the war… From the staff to the food, the atmosphere, the music… even the bathrooms there are an experience… The evening in Barood reminded me just how much I love this place—and Jerusalem—thanks to places like this. We wandered in for a quick dinner and ended up staying 2 hours in this magnificence of a place. This family-owned restaurant's interior has somewhat of a flea market vibe, with frames and knickknack covering walls and shelves. The menu is Greek-themed to an extent, quite wide bar choice , though you'll have to ask for — the bar card features only wine. Toilets are one of the most clean that I've visited, which is a great sign. We took the cheese bisquits, baked cemembert, ribs and shrimps in ouzo. The portions are small, but with a starter and main course you'll be full without overeating. Alcohol seems to be genuine (not-watered down), and overall the experience was pretty great...

I recently dined at a restaurant called Barood and had a great experience. The starters were really good and definitely set the tone for the rest of the meal. The atmosphere was really cool - it felt like I was transported back to the 1950s in America. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
