We ordered the Tunisian ceviche fish in a pita and side order of roots vegetables. First, I'll say the good part. There was a small slice of plain pita which was cut off to open the sandwhich. It was one of the better pitas I had ever had. Unfortunately the rest of the pita housed the sandwhich, which was ceviche fish swimming in sauce. The sauce literally poured out of the pita and completely drenched and overwhelmed the dish. The only other noticeable flavor was the cilantro which I enjoy, but it was indiscriminately stuffed in the sandwich. If you enjoy eating bright orange and very lemony sauce with a mouthful of cilantro, this dish is for you. Otherwise stay away or order a plain pita from them. We also had a side order of cooked root vegetables, which were baked to oblivion. They tasted like water and lost all the flavor and fun of their healthful crunchiness. I never write reviews, but our experience was so contrary to what we heard about Panda I...
Read moreAs someone visiting from Miami, I have to say Panda Pita in Tel Aviv completely blew me away. Tucked into a little alley right off the Carmel Market, it’s the definition of a hidden gem. The pita is next-level soft, warm, and slightly steamed so it almost melts in your mouth.
I had the Eggplant Filet pita and it was hands down one of the best things I ate in Israel. Creamy tahini, perfectly cooked eggplant, fresh herbs every bite was packed with flavor. I also tried the Tunisian ceviche which was bright, zesty, and full of personality.
The vibe is casual, the staff is super friendly, and the energy of the market makes it even better. You eat standing up like a true street-food experience, and honestly? That just adds to the magic.
Panda Pita is a must if you’re in Tel Aviv. Can’t recommend it enough. Wish we had something like this in Miami!

Read moreBest pita sandwich of my life! I wasn’t even hungry when I walked by, but after trying one of the free samples of the fresh pita bread on the counter I couldn’t resist. The sandwiches come in two sizes - large and small - and three different fillings: eggplant (ILS19 small / ILS27 large), sloppy meat (ILS27/ ILS37) and fish (ILS29/ILS39) fish. All sandwiches are filled with veggies, herbs, tahini, amba. So so so good - I don’t know how they prepare the eggplant but it is MAGICAL. I am sure even people who usually don’t like eggplant will enjoy this sandwich (which is vegetarian, can be made vegan without the egg). The staff is also super friendly and a joy to watch. My go-to place for a cheap lunch...
