M25 came highly recommended. It's in the hands of a famous chef, and the location is very hipster. What a disappointment.
The wait for a table was almost an hour - OK it was a holiday day - but nothing was offered to make the wait moe bearable despite the beer tender sitting just by.
Once we finally got a table the first thing to mention was the noise. The DJ blasted music at drum & baas levels throughout the restaurant. We asked three times for the noise level to be reduced just so we could hear ourselves make an order.
It was, but then it crept up, again and again - to the extent that we just gave up trying to speak to each other.
Then the food: we had really high hopes. Again, disappointment. The order was incorrectly taken, and half of it never arrived and when the food arrived, the well done meat was still breathing, the quality of what arrived at the table was 'normal' and the side dishes suffered from too little attention.
Had the restaurant been reasonably priced for all that, it might have been acceptable: but it was not.
M25 is riding high now, but it's bubble will quickly burst if this continues and it will go the way of many restaurants of the moment.
If I was you, I'd cut out the middle man and miss out on this experience....
Read moreCame here for lunch with my boyfriend. We each had the Arais, a glass of Shevo red and shared one Crack pie for dessert. The Arais was exquisite with a side of tomato salad with hot peppers, lemon juice, garlic paste and a very delicate wonderfully delicious Tehini sauce. There were three points to improve. 1. It was way too loud in the restaurant, between the pots and pans and the music playing there was little to none left for conversation having. 2. The lack of a normal menu, with a list of items and prices lead to us ordering a glass of wine which ended up costing more than we expected (45 nis). The Arais itself was delicious, yet too expensive. The cost of meat and pittas when bought in bulk is so cheap, it is beyond us how it ended up costing almost 50 shekels. We will return, but we would restrict ourselves only to main courses as otherwise you end up paying the same price in a high...
Read moreThe hamburger patty was amazing: the meat was tender and juicy. The hamburger bun with sauces and some vegetables was a good companion to the patty. However, the rest of the hamburger course was disappointing/not suitable: I was served couple of huge baked potatoes as a side dish. Why? And how do I enjoy these potatoes without any butter or some cream sauce? Also after enjoying the meat, I'd prefer some onion rings or a bit of fine proper french fries. The tomato salad very nice, but has been prepared in advance, making tomatoes to release their juices. This is not good enough when serving a course worth 87 NIS in a shack in a dirty and rundown Carmel market.
The location is really dingy, I'd much rather the place would be located a bit outside of the market.
Service was quick and attentive, but all I needed was a jag of water and a...
