The athmosphere was really cozy, nice inner courtyard with nice lights and fans that give a light breeze during the warm nights.
The service was terrible. We were told you could have two for one on drinks if we ordered before a certain time. So I first ordered one drink with the promise of getting another later in the evening. 15 min before the said time I ordered another with the expectation of receiving another later in the evening. When I ordered the second drink we also found out they'd already put in the food orders even though several people in our group hadn't ordered food yet.
The food then started to come in, and some people got their main course about 40 min after the first ones and therefore had to eat alone.
When I then tried to receive my second and forth drink I was told I hadn't ordered them. Even after explaining very clearly and honestly what I had been told by the server this was not accepted.
A couple in the group then stayed after the rest had gone and one in the company went to order a beer for each person. When we hadn't received the beers after 25 min we asked and were told that they maybe could serve us but would have to check. We instead asked if we could pay got a bill but then had to go to a payment station where I had to wait 15 min to pay for my drinks (since another in our group had already payed for food).
Needless to say I did not pay the service fee even though I was rudely asked. Another in my company were after she declined to pay service fee rudely lectured on why one should.
I really really hope that this was just one bad server but it really took the fun out of my...
Read moreThe backyard theme is pretty nice, though it has its toll.
The place is a crowded hipster-design backyard with a lot of plants and trees which makes it home-like, but very loud due to its bad acoustics.
The menu has a small selection of beer snacks and side dishes such as the amazing eggplant fries, but because of the slow service, i preferred not to waste my time this visit.
As a beer lover, i ordered one of the beers they had on tap, but of course , with my luck, it was sour. maybe they had a problem with the cooling system, i'm not sure, but the waiter wasn't on my side. The worst part was that I had to convince her to check it. after making a long face for changing my beer, i caught a glimpse of her spitting the beer while courageously trying it.
She replaced my beer. Things worked out and i eventually had a pleasant stay. But when they say "The customer is always right", it was actually meant to say "If there's a chance the customer is right, don't make him feel like you're better than him/her and dismiss his complaint right away cause once you taste his beer and spit it out, he sees you."
This made the difference between...
Read moreJust had dinner here which I booked for my partner’s 30th birthday after a friend strongly recommended this place.
A wise man once told me this: “if your waiter doesn’t take notes when taking your order, expect half of your order to be missing and a major screw up”
That’s exactly what happened to us. Sadly I can’t turn the clock back and our evening was ruined but hey there’s bigger problems one can have out there.
The host with the green top and glasses at check in was mega friendly and the tall skinny guy who tried to fix the unfixable at the end was friendly too. We had a drink at the bar too, that was fun.
It was our first dinner here in TLV so I have nothing else to compare it to locally, but I wouldn’t come here again. The food (couple of dishes we managed to get after 60’ of waiting) were 6/10. I only hope there’s better places than this one to dine in TLV at these prices. That place is NOT cheap, ambience below average and the food as described above. Tried to be as objective as I could, being a man who eats out 3 times a week and travels overseas 200 days a year....
