Fantastic food, fantastic experience -- but you have to know the ropes. I stood right at the front counter for nearly ten minutes, expecting one of the guys to ask me what I wanted. Not that I was bored watching them work. I finally figured out that you have to squeeze into the extremely narrow aisle and order at the cash register. All the signage is in Hebrew, but I knew that I wanted the pita with homemade sausage (from a magazine review). It didn't matter, the guy at the register of course spoke English. He made sure I knew that "with everything" means everything: grilled onions and peppers, a cucumber/tomato/cabbage mixture, and both tahini and spicy sauces. The staff is super friendly and awesome, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. They offer four regular options, all of which are worth trying, but my personal favourite is the lamb and veal.
Just be careful if you ask for all toppings because they add roasted spicy pepper!
Overall, this place is an excellent choice for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and affordable prices. Don't miss out on this gem!
