Fantastic food, fantastic experience -- but you have to know the ropes. I stood right at the front counter for nearly ten minutes, expecting one of the guys to ask me what I wanted. Not that I was bored watching them work. I finally figured out that you have to squeeze into the extremely narrow aisle and order at the cash register. All the signage is in Hebrew, but I knew that I wanted the pita with homemade sausage (from a magazine review). It didn't matter, the guy at the register of course spoke English. He made sure I knew that "with everything" means everything: grilled onions and peppers, a cucumber/tomato/cabbage mixture, and both tahini and spicy sauces. Looking at the photos, you might think they make the typical mistake of putting the sauce on last, so most of the sandwich is dry. Nope: They layer it all together: first tahini on the inside of the pita, then some meat of your choice, then onions, tahini and spicy sauce, more meat, cucumber mixture, more onions, and the two sauces on top! Incredible. Finally: You'll be tempted to walk off and eat it away from the bustle of the shop. If you do take A LOT of napkins. I went through about twenty, and I was at...

You could be forgiven for mistaking Jasmino for a dive, but that would be to fundamentally misunderstand what they’re doing: taking the traditional “shipudia” and elevating it to something very, very special.

There isn’t much different in the pitta stuffings from what you’d get in any roadside eatery (apart, perhaps, from the slightly silky, crunchy ox heart option - absolutely delicious) but watching the fire sizzle and then the care and obsessive attention with which the meats and vegetables are folded into the bread, before finally being finished with tahini and a gloop of amber mango pickle and handed over, you begin to understand just how much thought and attention has gone into this deceptively simple joint.

An...

If you're looking for a must-visit place in Tel Aviv that offers delicious food at an affordable price, then you simply have to check out this place. Despite the long queues outside, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on their mouth-watering pita.

The staff is super friendly and awesome, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. They offer four regular options, all of which are worth trying, but my personal favourite is the lamb and veal.

Just be careful if you ask for all toppings because they add roasted spicy pepper!

Overall, this place is an excellent choice for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and affordable prices. Don't miss out on this gem!

UPD: even my cat loves...

We went to Jasminos l as a final lunch before leaving Tel Aviv. We wanted something nice to celebrate our awesome time. Jasmine was highly recommended by Mark wiens. We arrived and had our order taken . We immediately ordered beverages (just water). We ordered the lamb sweetbread and lamb kebab . I watched them both being prepared and while they did a great job preparing , I was underwhelmed. Everything was there but it was missing something - namely, proper meat portions. Everything tasted great but the toppings overpowered the meat 3/5 The food here has perfectly cooked ingredients but just felt it failed to meet expectations. I really wish I had time to return to give them a second opportunity

Hole in the wall type place that specialises in bbq meat. These are quality cuts expertly grilled. The menu is small, usually 4 options which are all served in a pitta bread. It's worth asking at the till if there are any other cuts available because they usually have some off the menu items. The grilled meat is served with basic grilled vegetables, tahini, chilli and amba. We really enjoyed the chicken thighs (pargit) and loved the spicy veal heart. Its a special place for meat lovers. There are no tables, no toilets, no waiter. Order at the till, give your name and wait to be called when the order is ready. Very tasty. Highly recommended
