Overall a disappointment. We went here this last Saturday evening and perhaps it was especially busy but maybe its always like that. Either way we thought the service was hurried and impersonal. Basically we felt like we were just cogs in the machine (the absolute opposite of Sal8 where we dined the night before). They wanted us in and out as quick as possible. On top of that the food was average and fairly tasteless. The cold platter of meats and cheeses was nice enough but the plate of assorted cooked / grilled meats was VERY average. The wine was nice and we enjoyed that. Our experience may well have been impacted by the fact that we are not Italian and don't speak Italian. Either way the gentleman at the front desk who realised that we had stiffed the waiting staff (didn't leave a tip) and consequently ushered us out of the door with a very brusque dismissal ... if he's wondering WHY we stiffed them here's his reasons why! Sorry! We won't be returning. There are better places to eat...
Read moreOkay, this is one of my personal favorite restaurants. Great dishes and wine. That said, we went by 15 min before they were ready to open, although they said online they open at 18:30, it was, in fact, 18:30. I was with my 80 year old parents and I said, “no problem, I understand but can we sit until you open, maybe have a glass of wine” He said, “there’s a park bench over there, they can sit there!” Are you kidding?! Lost my business forever and what’s worse or funny is my parents always have said this is a snobby location. I did not agree. I’m not sure snobby is the word but put in any expletive that you feel fits to express someone telling your elderly parents to “sit in the park” ROAR! We went to PITITTO, next door. They don’t open until an hour from now but here we sit with drinks and food on the way. That’s hospitality. Shame on you, Enoteca Nzolia...
Read moreWe stopped by for dinner without a reservation and were seated immediately. However, after that, nobody paid attention to us for some time. New people came in and occupied three other tables. A waitress came and took the orders of those tables, ignoring us (I hope not intentionally). Only after I called another waiter who was just walking by and asked why we were being ignored, he called that waitress over, and she finally took our order. The food was okay, the food presentation was good. The wine and beer were also good. We waited and waited for the check. And again, we had to get another waiter to ask for it. I hope our experience was an exception and not the rule of their service. I would not...
