Chapeau Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Agrigento

Unfortunately, my experience at Chapeau was extremely disappointing. The food quality was subpar, with both the pinsa and tuna focaccia falling short of expectations. The pinsa was made with low-quality ingredients, including tomato concentrate sauce and industrial mozzarella, resulting in a dish that tasted unpleasant and was overpriced. The tuna sandwich was equally disappointing, with canned tuna lacking seasoning and unappetizing iceberg lettuce. Even the tomatoes lacked flavor, which should be impossible in Italy. Adding to the disappointment was the unfriendly demeanor of the girl who served us. Not only did she fail to check on us throughout the meal, but the service was also incredibly slow, leaving us waiting for an extended period for our food. Overall, I would strongly advise others to avoid this place as there are better options around. With poor food quality, unfriendly service, and long wait times, it fails to meet even the most basic expectations for a dining experience. OK...

Tonight we had the pleasure to dine at Chapeau, a beautiful lounge bar in the heart of the historical center of Agrigento. The food and the drinks where really nice. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing (only exception the young waitress who took our order at the first place. She was pressing and also should have the politeness to bring us a catalogue in English while noticing that we were foreigners). Still, the lady owner/manager of the bar and the second waitress were both extremely helpful and polite helping us right away with everything we asked for. We had lunch here on Monday June 17th. After we received our check and tried to pay with a credit card, we were informed the credit card machine was not working. The gentleman was extremely arrogant - said cash only- no dollars. Go down the street to ATM, get cash and come back. No apologies, no courtesy whatsoever! When we returned, I asked if they would give us a discount for the inconvenience. He acted as if he didn’t understand. Even when my friend spoke to him in Italian he was indifferent. Rude is an understatement. The service was slow. My friend asked for her drink three times before they finally brought it. The place was not crowded.
