Pizzeria Lo Smeraldo — Restaurant in Alghero

We visited this restaurant for the first time on the last day of our stay. We chose it because it was close to our accommodation and my husband had seen a horse meat dish on the menu outside that he wanted to try. We ordered a pizza, calamari with fries and salad, and the horse meat with fries and salad. Unfortunately, apart from the pizza, everything was awful – extremely oversalted, the meat was served cold, and the salad looked thrown together: a few pieces of iceberg lettuce roughly torn with two slices of tomato. By far the worst food we had in Sardinia. The pizza was acceptable, but nothing special.

Inside, there were no other customers besides us, but several staff members standing around. Unfortunately, the service was completely indifferent, with zero attention to the guests. On top of that, this was the only restaurant during our entire week on the island where we were charged a coperto fee.

It was close by and the horse meat dish seemed like an interesting option, but we left very disappointed – I absolutely do not...

When I walked in, it smelled like heaven! Absolutely the best pizza in the world! Although I ordered the pizza to go I can guarantee you that you will never be disappointed! Ordered a half meter pizza and fried calamari with fries at the counter paid and the nice lady asked me to wait and within 4 minutes there was a young girl at the counter prepping my box and cutting my pizza and lo and behold after I was walking back to the hotel! Also the pizza place was sooooo busy non stop orders going out the door people calling to order and people walking in. When I got to the hotel I took one bite and it was like eating a piece of heaven! My wife and I truly enjoyed this food. It was clean fresh and cooked to perfection. We kept eating like gluttons even after we were full! Hats off to this place. Number one pizza. I would fly all the way to Alghero just to eat this pizza! I cannot thank you enough for your service and for the amazing food you serve. Absolutely fabulous!!! With lots of love! Thank you thank you...

Ordinate 6 pizze il 15 di agosto, da far portare in spiaggia. È stato dato un orario ben preciso ma essendo ferragosto nessuno si aspettava estrema puntualità. Ho chiamato DUE volte per sapere dove fossero le nostre pizze: alla prima hanno detto che le stavano infornando e alla seconda hanno detto che il ragazzo era già uscito per portarle. Le pizze alla fine sono arrivate con più di un’ora di ritardo, senza chiedere scusa nè niente e per di più mancava una pizza. Erano le 23 passate(le pizze ordinate alle 20.30) e a quel punto scocciati del comportamento abbiamo rimandato le pizze indietro. 5 minuti dopo ricevo una chiamata dal titolare che mi prende a voci e mi minaccia dicendomi di mandargli “qualche amichetto” per vedersela di persona, accusandomi di prenderli in giro e non aver detto di non volere più le pizze ed avergliele fatte fare a vuoto e non dandomi il modo di dirgli che io le pizze le volevo ma sono stati loro a sbagliare e per di più molto in ritardo. Peccato perché era la pizzeria dove ordinavo sempre con la mia famiglia ed erano davvero buone ma, come mi ha detto il titolare sempre a voci, non posso più ordinare pizze da loro. Avete proprio sbagliato atteggiamento, aggressivi e scorbutici, nessuno voleva prendervi in giro, imparate a sapervi comportare con i vostri clienti, quelli di fiducia...
