L'Osteria — Restaurant in Aosta

Probably amont the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a while. I put 2 stars because the food was ultimately ‘eatable’ (at least the pasta are almost good) and the setting is nice. But…3/4 of the staff is just unprofessional. No smile, no facial expression at all actually. They just don’t want to be there. Food : pasta ok, as mentioned. The rest is just a bunch of uninteresting ingredients badly prepared and looking like a cheap cantina dish. Presentation 2/10. Taste 3/10. Worst is the waiting time. When we politely asked where our dishes were after having finished our starters since 45 mins, the waiter seemed irritated and said ‘Well the terrace is full, what do you want me to do? They must be cooking your food’. Great. Very pro and client oriented. When we decided to leave, no one asked if it went well. To be fair, some waiters are much more professional (kudos to the girls) and apologized for the delay. But there’s no designated waiter for a table so the service experience is totally random depending on who does what for you. Anyway this place clearly lives on on its touristic location (main street of old town) and hires unexperienced staff that they must probably underpay given their total lack of motivation. Typical touristic place I would not recommend. Not catastrophic but not something you want to experience when...

DO NOT GO THERE! ABORT MISSION! We arrived late but they said they still serve food. We ordered and within 5 minutes we had our meat dishes... conveniently presented in a circular shape with the meat in the middle of a polenta circle...which is all the confirmation I need that this was a microwaved dish. In Italy! For 15 euros... that's a disgrace. 2 euro table charge adds insult to injury. I'm gonna get a nice fat pizza slice to make my night a little better. Edit: we paid for the drinks and not for the food we barely touched and wouldn't even fees to a dog. They than chased us down the road and threatened us. We called the police, they realised and also quickly called. We had a stand off between us, 4 of them and 4 cops. Eventually one of "their" police officers stared playing with his gloves very openly telling me to pay up....so we did. Afterwards we had the most amazing and fresh pizza just a few...

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE!!! We had a horrible experience at this place. We ordered some wine and water en just two main courses. The food arrived after online 5 minutes (polenta and meat), and was obviously not fresh. It was dry and much too salty. We suspect it was even microwaved. After two or three bites we confronted the staff, who angrily took our plates away, said we were the first unsatisfied customers in four years (yeah right, check the reviews). We then got the bill for the full meal, which we decided not to pay, just for the drinks and 'service'. They then chased us down the street and threatened with police, which we decided to call ourselves. After a standoff with 4 cops and the staff, we eventually, reluctantly, payed the full bill to avoid any more trouble (we were told we either had to pay or come to the police station).

So long story short, horrible food, horrible staff: DO...
