The place is just located very well and looks very great. Oh, and it seems to be popular with the local crowd. That's why we entered in the first place.
If you are a wine lover, you may have a great time drinking it there, because they will present you a wine card thicker than their menu. Speaking of the menu. We decided to go all in. Appetizer, first and second dish. And I have to say, the starter was the best food we got this evening. We've chosen the cheese and meat plate and it had a great selection of local products. Highly recommend. The first course was a bit disappointing for me. I had the pasta with artichokes and fish roggen. Overall it was just too fishy, salty and unspectacular. Unfortunately it had no real highlights that made me appreciate it more. Okay, maybe the main course will be better. But sadly it wasn't. I choose their interpretation of the local cutlet with potatoes. Well, it was again underwhelming and the potatoes were again trenched in salt. In Germany we would say that the cook was obviously in love this evening. Again it was missing any freshness or highlights. Cheese and salt were dominating the dish.
I have to admit we were a bit sad after our stay there. We paid a hundred euro for two people and got an average meal. Hopefully, regarding the good reviews, the cooks indeed had a bad day or were in love this evening. I wouldn't...
Read moreThis was our second visit to this restaurant and just like the first time an excellent experience. We started with the vitello tonnato and gnocchi fritto, the latter accompanied by an outstanding selection of cured meats from Aosta – a real highlight. For the main, we shared a T-bone steak that was cooked to perfection: juicy, flavorful, and beautifully charred on the outside. It came with grilled vegetables and potatoes, all well-seasoned and served piping hot.
We paired the meal with a bottle of Planeta wine from Sicily – an excellent choice that complemented the dishes beautifully. The young staff provided warm and friendly service throughout, adding to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Unfortunately, there was no room left for dessert – a testament to how generous and satisfying the earlier courses were. While it’s not a cheap meal, the quality of the ingredients, the thoughtful preparation, and the great service made it absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone who...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at La Grenette, and overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant seems to attract a fair share of tourists, which adds a certain charm to the ambiance.
While I can't say the food was incredible, it was decent. The dishes were satisfactory, but they didn't leave a lasting impression. It felt like they aimed to serve a large number of customers quickly, which might explain why nothing stood out as exceptional. It was a typical dining experience without any major flaws.
If you're looking for a restaurant where you can get a good meal at a reasonable price, La Grenette is a suitable option. However, if you have specific preferences or are seeking something more remarkable, you might want to explore other dining establishments in the area.
In summary, La Grenette is a solid choice for a meal. It caters to a wide range of clients efficiently, offering decent food at a fair price. While it may not be extraordinary, it fulfills its...
