Pasticceria F.lli Bruschi — Restaurant in Arezzo

I despaired at finding a good, old fashioned caffé in Arezzo. Then I came to Pasticceria Filli Bruschi. The caffé was established in 1937 and remains a family business. Their bakery (labratorio) is in the back of the shop. Locals frequent here. I stopped by for English breakfast tea and a traditional Italian cornetto. I got the ceramic tea pot, cup and saucer all with the « B » logo of Bruschi. The pistachio cornetto was huge! Italian cornettoes are like brioche bread with cream inside. Best Pasticceria in Arezzo.. I almost cried when I had their amazing Mille Foglie.. Stefania is one of the nicest, friendliest people I've met in Arezzo. Una delle più antiche e prestigiose Pasticcerie di Arezzo, oggi anche bar. Attività rigorosamente artigianale, dove tutt'oggi si lavorano i dolci con la saggezza di una volta!...La famosa crema del Bruschi è il dolce millefoglie sono da sempre imbattibili. I pasticcini non sono da meno, in particolare i famosi "brutti ma buoni". I salati non sono assortiti e decisamente modesti. Il Locale, un po angusto ma magnificamente arredato da tanta antica storia della famiglia Bruschi, si trova nel cuore del Centro Storico, poche centinaia di metri dalla Basilica Domenicana di San Domenico dove svetta il caratteristico campanile a vela che si affaccia nella magnifica Piazza. La Chiesa conserva un gioiello mondiale della pittura su tavola: Il celeberrimo Crocefisso del giovane pittore Cimabue. Visita obbligata!..Naruralmente dopo non può mancare una dolce tappa dal Bruschi Pasticceria Bar....
