Food (4 out of 5) -- the food was overall excellent with the zucchini ravioli and the crispy pork being the standouts. There is a talented chef involved, but sadly the service experience is awful. The plating of the courses was nicely done and beautiful. Service (1 out of 5) -- although there were some excellent aspects to the food, there was nothing good about the service. Almost every aspect of the service experience was rushed and then oddly haphazard. We ordered a mixed salad to start. It was quite good, but before I had even had a chance to try the salad, the sommelier slash food runner brought our second course to the table (zucchini ravioli, and also an octopus ravioli). He actually went to set them on our tiny table until I mentioned that we'd like to finish our first course first that he took them away. Later, when he did bring the 2nd course back, it was clear that they had just been sitting in the kitchen. Unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. We thoroughly enjoy a leisurely, Italian style lunch. What we experienced here can best be described as an odd mix of fast food rushed service with long gaps of no service at all. It was haphazard and amateurish for what is a multi-generation, family owned and run restaurant. Atmosphere (3) -- nice charm and character that is undermined by fake (tacky) plants and flowers. There are so many wonderful dining options in the area. We were disappointed that we wasted a meal here. UPDATE: I certainly did say something during our meal about the service. To pretend this didn't happen is offensive. As I mentioned in my review, there were some significant positives about the food. The quality of the service, however, from the initial greeting to the haphazard service throughout was unacceptable. Delivering our 2nd hot course before we'd even had a bite of our salads!? Did I say something? Yes, I did. Did you even bother to comment about this or acknowledge this in your response? No. Nor did you address this while we were there. There were a number of times during our meal when I had to be more direct than I prefer. I was shocked when our 2nd course was delivered almost immediately after our 1st. Even after I said something, the server went to try to put the two additional plates on our tiny table. Only after I was insistent that we first be allowed to finish our salads, did he stop. Where were you that you are so unaware that this happened? Service was haphazard with food being rushed out when it should not be. The zucchini ravioli had some excellent flavors, but it was served to us cold as was the octopus ravioli. Our overall experience here was unpleasant due to poor service. Should I have made scene when our 2nd course was brought to the table cold? That is not the approach I'd ever take. I was clear that it was not warm. I was clear that it was not fresh. No one seemed to care, as no one did anything about it. It was a celebratory meal for us that we were looking forward to that was, sadly, made not so special based on the experience. We will be back to Arezzo, but we will dine elsewhere.

A person said hello to us… As we strolled the square looking for our dinner plans later in the day. We were invited back by a very friendly wait staff lady. The other places in the plaza ignored us or made minimal effort to engage. Promptly at opening we were seated Service was American style ( sorry ) It was frequent, communicative, timely, and on cue. Our server had several good suggestions. We took. Our anti pasta , firsts, and deserts were the best we’ve experienced in Italy. The wine too. Bonus. The warm bread basket had multiple bread types and flavors to complement your wine sipping or heaven forbid sopping up our succulent sauces. I could attempt to write flowery descriptors of our meal….it would be Inadequate. Absolutely first class service. And the best meal in Italy.

This place was really good! Went there during COVID times on a rainy day for lunch. Yes the guy in front is eager to make you sit and buy, but glad we did! Excellent food and service! Came out straight away with little focaccia pieces and a homemade soup to cleans the pallet. Excellent little 500ml wine from local area to accompany our meal. Jait ordered the daily primi. Lasagna and spinach ravioli. Incredibly tasty and beautifully plated! That only for 10e each. Then desert we also got a pre-desert given which also tasted super nice! Dessert were plated like flowers, beautiful! And the taste was amazing! We loved the weird mini kiwi melon garnish! Even with the coffee we accidentally ordered it came with yummy biscuits / pastry with jam and chocolate inside. (except the one with cream inside tasted a bit fishy, weirdly enough). Service was quick and good, sometimes a bit too quick, but just mention to wait a bit for the next round. Not many people there because of covid so don't know pre-covid if the level of service was the same. But I can see why they had Michelin guide stickers every year dating from I think 2002! Well worth it! And for all that food and drinks, bill of 70e was...

Great ambience but below average food and mediocre service. They charge more than average so I expected better taste. Dishes lacked the authentic Italian taste. Everything was more like a remix version of an Italian dish. This is not the place to eat authentic Italian food. I am all about innovation but it should taste nice. For example: the cheesecake was a piece of cheese with jam inside and fruits on the side. Lol. I mean full points for presentation but taste was pathetic. The Melazane alla parmigiana was 3 mini food pieces with no connection to the real dish whatsoever. I am not a tourist. I live in Italy and I have dined in most regions. This is my second time in this restaurant after 2 years. It was better the first time but this time it was truly disappointing. They had the audacity to add the cheesecake to the bill even when I didn't eat it and sent it back. My Italian wife didn't like her dessert as well as it was a molten chocolate cake without...
