4.9 stars. This is my fondest eating memory of Assisi! If you go, which I recommend you do, what you will discover is a beautifully decorated restaurant in which the atmosphere, food quality, wines, and customer service are all masterfully intertwined. We felt treated like family here and if I’m ever back in Assisi, I would make this the go to location for multiple meals. This is a place you go in which you really think to yourself, “Yes, indeed, I truly am on vacation, certainly am in the midst of an adventure and genuinely am tasting, sipping and breathing in Italy. We had a very enjoyable dining experience here recently. The restaurant was empty when we first walked in, but it wasn’t long before other diners arrived. All the food we chose was beautifully prepared and was delicious. The service was friendly, courteous and professional. The ambience was refined. The owner told us that he opened the restaurant 50 years ago. We think he’s created something special and hope he continues to run the restaurant for many more years to come! We were steered to this location by the Michelin Guide during a visit to the Assisi Basilica. We arrived around noon and the restaurant was empty but welcoming. We were offered an English menu which was helpful in making selections. The waitstaff was attentive and kind. Try to use Italian if you can when communicating with the staff!
