Monastero San Giuseppe — Local services in Assisi

Unser Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft war leider enttäuschend. Bereits am zweiten Abend wurden wir beim Abendessen vor verschlossenen Türen und einer kalten Küche stehen gelassen – ohne jegliche Vorwarnung seitens des Personals. Enttäuscht reisten wir noch am selben Abend ab und bezahlten folglich nur die erste Übernachtung. Doch dies war nicht das einzige Problem: Das Parken erfolgt auf öffentlichen Parkplätzen, für die es eine Ermäßigungskarte gibt – diese wurde uns jedoch erst nach Umwegen ausgehändigt. Zudem war die Rezeption oft unbesetzt, sodass wir trotz angekündigter Ankunft vor verschlossenen Türen standen. Am nächsten Tag wurde der Zugangscode zur Unterkunft ohne Mitteilung geändert, sodass wir um 13:00 Uhr erneut vor verschlossenen Türen standen. Die Zimmer sind schlicht, das Frühstück und Abendessen ebenfalls einfach – für den Preis akzeptabel. Doch was nicht akzeptabel ist, ist ein mangelhafter Service und eine schlechte Organisation. Wir können diese Unterkunft leider nicht empfehlen.

Il nostro soggiorno in questa struttura è stato purtroppo deludente. La seconda sera siamo rimasti davanti a porte chiuse e una cucina spenta, senza alcun preavviso da parte del personale. Delusi, abbiamo deciso di partire quella stessa sera e abbiamo pagato solo la prima notte. Ma questo non è stato l’unico problema: il parcheggio si trova in aree pubbliche e la struttura fornisce una tessera per ottenere uno sconto di 2,00 € – tuttavia, questa ci è stata consegnata solo dopo che ne abbiamo saputo per vie traverse. Inoltre, la reception era spesso non presidiata, il che ha fatto sì che, nonostante avessimo comunicato il nostro arrivo, ci trovassimo davanti a porte chiuse. Il giorno successivo, il codice d’accesso alla struttura è stato modificato senza alcuna comunicazione, e alle 13:00 ci siamo ritrovati nuovamente davanti a una porta chiusa. Le camere sono semplici, così come la colazione e la cena – accettabile per il prezzo. Tuttavia, un servizio scadente e una cattiva organizzazione non lo sono. I stayed in this accommodation a couple of months ago and would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are clean and spacious and the meals are healthy and much cheaper than other places in Assissi. The Benedictine nuns and their staff are very friendly and give the best of service and I enjoyed meeting other travellers who were staying there, and the accommodation is within walking distance to everything you want to see in Assissi. I love this place, the nuns are so kind and have so much hospitality. I really wish that I spoke fluent Italian so that I could have a real conversation with the nuns.
