Ristorante Medioevo Assisi — Restaurant in Assisi

This is a fantastic restaurant! It is tucked away in the small back streets but don't let that fool you. We had the taster menu which we expected to be small amounts of food adding up to one overall main meal. Nope! We had a piece of each starter on the menu which was a meal in itself, two pasta dishes followed by beautifully cooked steak with salad. The option was to have that for €30 which included service or add €10 for wine. Again we thought the wine would be a glass ... it was actually 3 generous servings of different local wines. All of that food and 3 glasses of wine for €40 a head was amazing value.

I've seen comments from others about the service but we had no complaint at all. They were lovely to us throughout and we ended up spending nearly 2.5 hours in the restaurant because we relaxed so much into it.

I've saved this restaurant on my maps as one to return to every time I'm in Italy going forward, even if it's a couple of hours...

It's a shame I can only give 5 stars! I cannot find words to recommend this place highly enough. The staff welcome you with smiles, although I don't speak Italian, my efforts of attempting pronunciation were so warmly welcomed and encouraged. The food was sensational. Easily the best meal I have enjoyed anywhere, EVER! My friend was celebrating a 50th birthday, they made tiramisu, added a candle , recommended champagne.....they couldn't do enough. If you are looking for recommendations, take THIS ONE!! Do it, I urge you to try it. I wish the delightful owner and all the staff all the best for...

This place was AMAZING. The staff were phenomenal and super courteous. I was well looked after and treated the entire evening. The waitstaff was kind enough to make great food recommendations, none of which disappointed. Everything was delicious. In fact, it was so delicious that some of the food brought up nostalgic memories of my childhood and cooking with my own Nanna. All the decisions were authentic, home cooked, and specific to the Umbrian region. I can't recommend this...
