We had a magnificent lunch at this very special trattoria. My husband and I felt as if we were back 100s of years ago. It is the oldest restaurant in Assisi and located in a very quite area that you will feel you are back in the 1200s.
The food is absolutely wonderful as is the very friendly staff. It is third generation and you can feel the love they put in it. There is a fireplace where the cook the food over the grill.
We started with their soup of the day - a kind of zucchini purée that is outstanding. We then had bruschetta which is also fabulous.
My husband had their spaghetti with bacon and onions and I their grilled pork with a peppercorn sauce and potatoes that tasted as if they were polenta - even better.
They have a very good wine list and we had their house bottled wine that is magnificent for 10 euro. Espressos are fantastic - and the prices are so very reasonable.
We loved this trattoria so much that we made reservations for our last night here in...

Be sure to have the house desert, “Dolce Della casa” to complement a spectacular lunch experience. Total price for 2...
Read moreAfter staying in Assisi, Italy for 3 days we eat dinner at Trattoria Da Erminio. It is a little Trattoria with indoor dinning and about 9 tables outside on the narrow alley-way. The food was very tasty and the portions were satisfying. The menu is small and they do all of it well. The meats were all cooked well-done over a wood fire. It was a bit salty for my taste, but with a veggie side dish it was a flavorful balance. We ordered a red and white bottle of Sportoletti wine, "delicious with the dishes".
We had a wonderful evening wining and dining the last night in Assisi with my family. The servers never interrupted our conversations.
We will all go again on our next...
